Welcome to the War Party!
Philosophy:
- The War Party was founded in 3720 BC for the glory of Lemuria! The base philosophy of the War Party is:
quote:
The advancement of Lemuria by the sword.
|
- The War Party is an official political party, and as such requires membership. Membership is attained by expressing your interest in joining at the bottom of this thread. Once accepted, you will be added to the list of members in this thread.
- Any threads/polls opened for the War Party MUST be preceeded with "War Party:" in the subject line. This is so members can easily find and participate in party debate.
- The Chairman of the War Party is responsible for opening discussions on party policy, which will then be voted into the official game's polls. Note: you are not bound by party policy, it's intended as a guide for how the party will vote. You can vote however you like on the official polls, but this may be to the detriment of the War Party. The Chairman is also responsible for holding an election for the War Party Chairman, which will be held from the 1st of every month. The timetable for these elections is as follows:
- 20th every month: Open nomination thread.
- 1st every month: Open election thread based on nominations.
- 7th every month: Election closed. Majority vote is new Chairman.
- The Chairman MUST be elected from current standing members only, but the vote is open to all.
- If the Chairman is unable to perform their duties, they may nominate a stand-in.
Members:
Dale - Founder (Temporary Chairman till vote held 1st Feb)
Child of Thor
Centrifuge
HuangShang
Maquiladora - Govt: Minister of Defense
Turambar
Iskallin - Govt: Minister of Infrastructure
Oerdin
Frozzy - Court: Judge
MrBaggins
Pedrunn - Govt: President
Ammendments:
Ammendments to the War Party's philosophy may be expressed at the bottom of this thread. It will then be voted on by the members, with a minimum of half the members at that time required to vote. The majority vote wins.

' In the darkness of chaos, the giants tricked Great Lemur and stole from him the enigma of steel. Lemur was angry and the earth shoke. Fire and wind struck down these giants and cast their bodies onto the world, and with them the weapons of steel. And you who found them, and took them up from the battlefields, are men; not Gods or Giants, just men.
You my people must learn its discipline, in life neither man, woman nor beast can you trust - this sword you can trust '
- from the life of the Lemur.

Even though im in the War Party i think we should still build a second settler first, that new Austrian city will be defended by maybe 3 or 4 good units by the time we get there (with only warriors), then again it might be defended by one. Either way if we lose attacking it, their units will be stacked and on our capital (and only our capital) like flies round ****.

Well I can only guess as to what the ICS theory of early development is (build cities not take them?), but I'm all for building up for war now and then attacking Austria.
But best to leave the campaigning until the Election thread is open I suppose.

You've not heard of ICS then?
It stands for 'Infinite City Sleeze'. Its a typical TBS ploy... and had its heyday in Civ2.
It effectively exploits a 'weakness' in the design of TBS games... namely that your cities use 1+POP (basically) squares of resources. Its mathematically advantageous to just build just settlers (and enough defensive units to be viable) whilst you can (subject to space and empire size caps.)
I do agree that we should take an Austrian City, but not at the expense of as rapid an expansion that we can muster, ourselves.
