Ambassadors & How to keep our Diplomatic Edge Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

We have the diplomatic advantage. Or so we think. In diplomacy, you never know.

What we =do= know, is that we have certain information that other teams do not (e.g. about the trade talks and cancellation of a deal between GoW and RP), very probably the most Civ contacts in the world, a fairly neutral status, a 'secret' Alliance, and some good connections here and there.

I say: let's keep this going. Let's not lose our diplomatic edge here. Let's keep trading, and let's be the neighbour that no one fears and everybody likes.

For this to be realized, we need very frequent contact moments with all Civs around us. That is why the function of Ambassador is so important. I have played more of these type of games where you have little information in the beginning and must find out who your neighbours are, back in the days when there was no Internet. We played it over the snail mail, with one turn every two weeks. I can tell you: no matter the differences with that game, people tend to pick the silent, isolated guy as their victim and the friendly neighbour who always has a listening ear and some new information to share as their Ally.

That is why I request that all ambassadors regularly post an update on what has been talked about between them and 'their' Civ. We need all this info to realize our (diplomatic) supremacy in this part of the world. Of course, Trip and others have been doing some excellent work but the role of Ambassador has been established for this purpose and Trip should not do this on his own. At one point, I myself even got engaged in trade-and-peace talks, and I'm not even an Ambassador. I don't want to steal your work, but I do want us to become a strong nation.

What do you think?

Ambassadors unite!

I agree completely with what you've said. As others might now, my ever-famous motto is "it's better to have any kind of friend than any kind of enemy". For this case, an 'enemy' would be a civ we don't have many diplomatic talks with.

Because everyone likes us, we can actually engage war agst our enemies one by one. We like everyone and everyone likes us, but it seems as everyone else has already pissed off another team in some way. This means after we take out NDE (who seems to score the lowest on popularity list), we can start taking sides and pick off players. Hopefully..

Got spare money?

Well, in that case, I'm sorry for your loss

BFM, you're doing a great job, but it will require a constant battle/discussion between us to keep our nation on a balanced march to greatness. We hold positions that need each other as much as they must compete with eachother. We pull from the same pool of resources. Both of our points a good, but it is the constant reparte that will build consensus.
