Magna Chartaginia - ratification Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

This is the official poll for the ratification of Magna Chartaginia, The Constitution of Legoland.

You can read the final draft in this thread

Vote "YEA" if you accept the Constitution in its current form, "NAY" if you reject it or "ABSTAIN" if you abstain.

This poll will be open at least 5 days or until at least 66% of the members of Senate will vote. The Constitution requires a majority of 66% of the votes to pass.

Well I almost did because I am not convinced that this constitution is close to the way we actually play this game.

But then I thought maybe it's because we do not have a ratified constitution just yet, so: YEA!

Well admittedly there is more than a little truth in that...

That being said, even with the new Constitution, I suspect that whoever plays the turn (Pres or VP) will continue to appreciate the opinions and suggestions of everyone, especially if the ministers aren't able to put in their orders between turns. More opinions is better than no opinions I think.

Already there have been many times where only a handful of the team have been able to respond between turns.

Redstar, I think. It is his right, of course. He said he's against the idea of having a constitution, not against this particular one, but that he won't go against the team (IIRC).

I abstain.

PS If it wasn't him, I apologize. It doesn't really matter, anyway. I just hope we won't have NAYs.

I, too, believe that the Constitution is a bit too heavy, considering the current state of affairs and pace of the game... however, after almost two months of the game, I guess we know we are reasonable folks, getting along quite smoothly. So, prior to voting YEA, I re-read the draft focusing on whether it will be "legal" if we continue playing the way we do now. And yes, it will be perfectly legal. Basically, the clause about President/VP being free to play whatever he wants, unless given explicit orders, comes into effect... even if the Constitution does not state the President/VP shall respect non-binding opinions of the other team members, as long as he does, everybody is happy to be on this clause, I think... the only problem was/is that whoever plays turns must follow the forum very closely, to be aware of every idea, every proposal, every discussion. I do that, Jack cannot.

OTOH, there is at least one important thing defined by the Constitution that we need. The term lengths. Currently, we do not really know when to hold elections...

So, that means we need 10 votes (66% of 15) to have a legal quorum? That's good, because we already have 11 votes!

We should still wait a few more days before closing the poll, IMO. Let's wait those 5 days, to give eveybody a chance to vote.

Increase Your PM Length

The legal 5 day period has expired and also 12 out of our 18 official members (66%) have voted, (the percentage is even better if we consider the ~14 active members) so all the legal conditions were met to consider the poll valid and closed.

"Magna Chartaginia", the Constitution of Legoland was voted by the overwhelming majority of the Legos, with 11 YEAs, none NAYs and one ABSTAIN.

Magna Chartaginia was ratified!

Now that law and order was set up all across Legoland, we can concentrate on equally important issues: forming a new government and under the guidance of a new President and his Ministers continuing the great job we have done so far and eventually winning the game!

Go Legoland!
