	Internal PBEM Game #3 - anything goes Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Ok, talked about this earlier today in the chatroom...

I know that other teams are doing this and I suppose we can do it as well, if for no other reason than to make owning a copy of PTW not seem as much of a waste of money

The idea is to hone our skills on playing the game (PTW specifically), play multiplayer in Civ3 to get experience with that, and just have fun playing with other people on the team.

The difference to games #1 and #2 is that those games are more focused toward learning what our opponents might try to use against us. THIS GAME would be pretty straightly focused on two things:

1. Having fun
2. Figuring out what each of us individually might like to try out in terms of strategies

So those who'd like to play are open to play ANY civilization and since I'll be the one starting it up, I'm open to you telling me to change your leader titles to something fun as well

How about...

Small map, raging hordes, random landmass, random planet age, random climate, random temp.

If you want something to not be random (such as landmass), I'm open to that. Speak up.

I suggest to take continents, with 60 % water.

If instead of a pbem, but something where whe can all sit down on a saturday or somethign and play an internet game or something - the problem I have with pbem is the god awfull long time it takes to play a game.

im just the opposite

my lifestyle doesnt guarantee i can sit down and play for a few hours straight, so PBEM fits in perfectly. I can play every 5 minutes i have free. Thats often enough. I barely ever get Saturday's with hours available to me.

Ok, changed the following:

- My civ is now Greece
- Temperature set to Temperate/Normal
- Climate set to Temperate/Normal
- Planet Age set to 4 Billion Year

Concerning Customization, I'm now thinking that the only thing we should customize are leader titles. Color and civname are pretty cool for each of the civs we're already playing and the most I'd do is make sure each of us got the primary color for our civ (Greece = neon green, Germany = blue, Carthage = Russian tan, Japan = rust, Egypt = yellow). If someone has a problem with that, speak up now.

As for leader names, they really should be our poster names for easy recognition.

As for leader titles, however... people can have some fun if they want to

So give me customized leader names if you want. If not, please post that you don't want them. I'll start the game once everyone's replied to that.

Let me know if you have any problems with the map settings, as I'm not particularly attached to them (just using defaults because it's most likely to be fairly reasonable that way).

It's a PBEM game and I'd like to keep it moving... but I guess we could do that.

Anyone who wants to join beyond the 5 players listed, PLEASE post here... if we have interest, we can include people.

I'm starting to warm up to this idea. I can play a turn a day and so long as this game stays secondary to our team game, I think I can manage.

With 6 players in, I suggest to choose a standard map. Otherwise, IMHO, it'll be a bit crowded.
