Hi All,
Sometimes before new year I was on my way to buy a computer which I also did. However the installing of all programs (including SMAC & SMACX) took much longer than I thought would. Finally everything is settle with one exception, I can't operate SMACX at all. According to my computer - my CPU can't support the system, which is ridicolous since my PC is an Intel P4 1,8 GHz. I asked around and the only answer I got so far is that my PC could be to good for the game???
Anyway, if I can't come up with a solution I will have to give all my games. Which includes:'
ACT056, ACT057, Yang Goes Native, AXT056, AXT057, AXT058, AXT059, Alien Waterworld, Battlefield Earth II

Check the FAQ in AC- General
A change or two to your alphacentauri.ini file should be all that are necessary. And selecting OK to override the 'CPU not supported' message.

You didn't mention your operating system. Firaxis has posted a SMAC patch for people with problems with Windows2000/xp. Try installing the patch on top of your current installation. If that doesn't work, you might try reloading SMAC, installing that patch, then installing SMAX. Good luck.

if the patch doesn't work try the following :
in the AlphaCentauri.ini file look for the line :
ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=0
and change it to :
ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=1
