The "Magna Chartaginia" is ready and almost ratified, so it's time to move ahead and elect our 2nd term government, the first legal one!
This is the thread for nominating people for ministerial positions. Current ministers will be automatically nominated if don't step down.
----------
NOMINATIONS
President
- Vondrack
Note: the current President, Jack, is stepping down so he's not a candidate
Master Builder
- ZargonX (in office)
Foreign Advisor
- Redstar
Note: the current FA, Vondrack, is running for Presidency, so he's not a candidate
The Enlightened
- Spiffor (in office)
Military Architect
- Tiberius
Note: the current MA, Redstar, is running for FA, so he's not a candidate
----------
I will update this first post with the most current nominations. People will be added to this list after they officially accept the nomination.

Well, keeping the spirit of posting in (almost) all our threads (the post count thing, ya know... Emperor is going to need some serious effort... ). I would like to post something here, too... well... ok, I hereby accept my nomination for the President... wait, I said that before, that would bee too cheap... hm... ok, I know what!
Just kidding... I am very serious about that I want to nominate Tiberius for the Military Architect! Over the two months of the game, he has proved himself to be very active in discussing movement of our units and often contributed by suggesting improvements over my proposals and correcting my mistakes. This is not to say that there would not be others participating, but as I can nominate just one candidate (or may I nominate more than one?), it will be Tiberius.
EDIT: if I am allowed to nominate more than one candidate and if Sharpe is willing to run for the office, I would like to see him run against Tiberius... these two guys would both be good MAs, I believe.

Well I would like to let everyone know that once I have more time I would like to run for office once again. Would any support me if I did in the future?

I also think that vondtrack will make a very good president, and you have my vote.

Well i might take an ambassador postion if no one else does. I have time on the weekends to do it, just not a lot of time on weekdays.

Ambassador to Gathering Storm: quantum_mechani
Ambassador to Neu Demogyptica: Colonel Kraken
Ambassador to Glory of War: ZargonX
Ambassador to Roleplayers: Nimitz
Ambassador to Vox Controli: Odin
Ambassador to Lux Invicta: lmtoops
As was mentioned earlier in this thread, several of the Ambassadors are either inactive or not as active as before.
In the "Inactive" thread, Colonel Kraken mentioned that while he wished to continue as part of Legoland, he would be more of an observer.
quantum_mechani just came back after being inactive for a while and Nimitz, lmtoops, and ZargonX have been active players.
So we have a few questions.
1) Do the active members wish to continue as Ambassadors or not or do they wish to switch duties (due to lack of time or now being part of the Cabinet).
2) Is Colonel Kraken willing or able to remain as an Ambassador to ND? (Preferably we should have someone from Europe)
3) What is the status of Odin - I have seen him posting on Apolyton plenty of times recently - but I don't recall seeing him here recently. The Ambassador of Vox may be very important as they may be our closest neighbour and we may meet up with them soon.
If we do need additional ambassadors, I can probably take one and there might be other volunteers available.
EDIT:
Just noticed this post from Vondrack earlier. If this is the government position on this, my apologies for the post above.
quote: As for ambassadors... I believe it will be best to wait until we make a contact and make it an issue only then. Even though I admire how actively Nimitz takes care of our relations with RPers, I don't expect everybody doing the same (also because RPers seem to be the only ones willing to cooperate that closely). Once we really need an ambassador to a certain team, we shall handle the situation appropriately, either "activating" the currently designed ambassador one or replacing him by whoever will be free/willing to take care of the negotiations at that time. |
