	Problems before modding Increase the size of your Attachments

Good day. I've become interested in scenario-modding C:CtP (and soon, C:CtP 2), however, I've run into a few problems.

Before I get into the file editing, I'd like to create maps via map editor. However, when I've attempted to use the editor, the program informs me I need a patch. I then proceed with patching, but it then informs me that "My version is not supported" or some such. The official patch also does not work, informing me of the same thing. The question being: What is the problem and how do I fix it? If I don't get beyond this point, I'll be turned off by the experience. Note: I've already asked Activision about it, and await their response. Also, I do not use the DVD version, at least I do not believe I do.

I never had problems creating CTP1 maps. Amd I patched the game very late although I had huge savegame reload problem. To patch your CTP1 right you need the patch version that is in the same language like your CTP1. One thing you could do to make shure that you have the latest version of CTP1 is to take a look on the cheat editor it should look like on the attachment. If it looks different then you don't have the CTP1 v.1.2 and finally make shure that you also installed the hack patch that is also available in the CTP1 secton of the Apolyton directory.

As Martin said, ensure the patch is the correct language.

An even easier way to determine whether you have the patch installed or not is whether there are PBEM and Hotseat buttons on the main menu.

Hotseat and Eamil game options are on my main menu, I have the English patch-version, and aside from the German, my cheat menu looks the same. What is the hack patch needed for?

The hack is primarily for playing mods - there's this annoying bug whereby you sometimes cannot load games which were made with mods in the regular version. It also makes CTP look in the scenario directory for more things (like pictures) so they don't clutter up your ctp_data directory.

I willn't be modding on CtP much, as I have alot going on right now. I've got to work, I have a fiancee, and some other projects that demand my attention. But I'll fool with stuff.
