Slowdown?

Put an end to popups!

It seems that apolyton is dreadfully slow . I am talking tens of seconds general loading time. Am I the only getting this today?

A problem with a servers? because there are not too many visitors.

It can probably be the attack, in case it has slowed your ISP down. I had some serious slowdowns yesterday, but today it's back to my normal loading times.

it seems to be doing well now. I expected the connection in the Uni to be slower, despite it being broadband, because a couple of servers were hit.

However, it also was slow at home, and my ISP was fully covered, and protected.

Yesterday at 7 GMT I was down to modem speeds.......it was horrible. It wasn't my ISP, but perhaps the general attack was responsible.......I remember thinking it seems a strange time for 'Poly to be slow.

well it could be that the page you view is not in direct line , most likely the page you view goes true several servers in several places , if one of them is "sick" , well you get a slow down , ......

it is perfectly possible that a user in china sees a page fine in like 5 seconds and the same page in wisconsin ( US ) loads in 25 minutes , ..... with same modem speeds , ....

looking into this i found that there was an exploit giving root (administration) access to a server as MS sql allowed people to install it leaving the (by default) database administrator password BLANK
