Well, as it has only just gone gold, i wouldn't think many people would have the full game, as it still needs to be mass produced and distributed Maybe some people with "contacts" have a copy though Otherwise, check out the MOO3 preview articles for info.

Suffering from ads?

Maybe I should start a review website this afternoon, then I could "try" to get a review cpoy too. I'm starting to salivate now, having been hungry so long, and now I can smell the cooking... The chef says "Dinner's ready" and now we have to "wait for the waiters" to bring us the main dish. Any chance of a starter ?

Oh well, the EB Games website still had 1/25/03 as the date they expect to start shipping it to customers as of this last weekend. I was hoping that someone had already gotten their copy.

Somehow, I don't think it should take long to get to the stores. IIRC, the second data disk, manual and packaging were all done when they decided to take more time to debug multiplayer. If so, they only need to dupe one disk and get it into the packaging.

We can only hope...I want my MOO3 fix!

One of the my local stores has this wierd habbit of carrying UK edition games. It can be quite irritating, certain EU rules apparently affect content.

The EU has a thousand rules affecting anything and everything. Something written for the "EU" will have lots of cuts because of all the different countries rules plus the EU bureaucratic blizzard on top.

It is Feb, 2003. If you look, it has MoO2 listed as 11/96 and the MoO3 Prima Guide as 12/02 in the same list.

Actually the EU is much more liberal than the UK or USA in terms of content. Pornographic material is shown nightly on free TV in France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Danemark, etc. Also graphic violence in video games is more tolerated. One big difference is that english UK versions of games never say "f*ck, sh*t or c*nt" where this may be allowed in the USA these words are a big deal in the UK.
In Germany we don't give a Scheisse

Yeah, but in Germany games are not allowed to show human blood or dismemberment.

Or maybe that's Australia... hmm...

The blood in one sequence of the intro movie is green in order that we did not have to create seperate movies for the german release.

Well, of course games are "allowed" to show red blood, gore and excessive violence in Germany, it's a free country after all. However, games that contain that stuff are often put on the "Index" by the BPS, meaning they must not be sold to minors and must not be advertised. Publishers often self-censor their games to prevent that procedure.

By the way, if the violence was subtle and in a non-interactive movie there's a good chance the BPS would have considered it harmless. But these guys are highly erratic, so it's smart to take the safe road.

Rantz: You're kidding, right? Not about the green blood, I could imagine that being in the intro, but about using it because of germanies stupid computer game violence policy.

Seems I will have to DL a bloodpatch in order to get red blood and the hidden 3d-action groundcombat mode (with lots of gore and carnage)

(Edit: typos)

nope I'm serious as a heart attack. In the intro movie there's scene where a not insignificant amount of human blood sprays. After it was rendered out, compressed and ready to go, we were told that there was no way around it, since there was only one version of the game that in order to get on the german shelves, we had to turn the blood green.
