	WAR with Lux. Got spare money?

I just chatted with BFM and they ARE trading Horseback to Roleplay.

This violates our agreement and in my opinion we should form an alliance with Nemo at once to eliminate Lux.

Secrets eventually get out, and we dont want Lux to get any sniff that we may be heading for a war.

We are many turns from declaring .... politics can change the situation very quickly.

Sorry, but I was really upset when BigFurryMonster confirmed they were planning to trade Horseback to Roleplay.

I sent this memo to Borc:

Absolutely, I figure either ND will welcome the idea or will mention something to Lux. If the latter I'm hoping Lux seriously reconsiders their plan to trade Horseback Riding to Roleplay.

I did say it was unofficial and merely stated that some members of the team would be receptive to the idea so its not like the team is going to war.

I've been thinking about that.

In all the wargames I play I usually form an absolute alliance with one other civ that we will not attack each other until we are the last two standing.

It has worked everytime.

Typically, in the boardgame Axis & Allies I'm Russia and I make the deal with Germany. I gobble up Japan while he annexes the UK.

Yes, we are mercenaries, but I believe war with Lux is good for us, even if we came in as partners. The main goal of this war would be to eliminate Lux (thereby helping us), not to sell ourselves. That said, I would be more than willing to get a beneficial deal with NDG... (like we get Lux's capitol)

Possible war plan:

NDG attacks lux's horse city, while we go in deep to the capitol. NDG would have to give us some stuff for us not getting the horse resource, and us going against the more heavily guarded city.

Do you mean the last ones or the last ones on the continent? I think that will need discussion eventually.

A&A is a fun game.

Ask if they would consider an alliance beyond Lux and perhaps against roleplay.

Their Ansar warriors are just as damaging as our riders.
We dont want to have to spend an entire age battling each other while the other teams scream ahead.

If however, it is most likely that we will get the option of attacking them before they get their UU. Perhaps we need to structure the deal so that eaveything becomes fair game after the Lux objectives have been met.

We are militaristic and should be able to beat them. Even it is just a level 1 pruning.


Panzer...they may not value the horse resource too much. They have another just below their Civ border IIRC.

Let's make it clear that the timing of a war against RP is up in the air. Simple expansion might be a better option, especially until we get Chivalry, possibly after. Riders are good, but they're 70 shields, let's discuss all possibilities first.

We should go carefully. Don't get me wrong, I agree with this war. But, diplomatically, we have some steps to be followed. The other teams have to know what we are doing and why, and they need to trust our version (Lux will have one, for sure) and align with us. Reputation hits are a REAL problem in this game.

Questions...

If Lux are just yanking RP's chain (and ours) and dont trade them HBR, are we still in an agreeance that Lux is still our preferred target.

We plan on eliminating Lux 100% right ? If we leave them 1 city, they will spend the rest of the game plotting against us.

How closely do RP & ND work together.
If they balk at the idea of attacking them, we will have no choice but to make ND target #2.
A Rider vs Ansar war is going to cost both our teams greatly.

Last night Roleplay commented on the fact that they hadn't had any memos with ND for quite a while.

Yes, I beleive Lux should be the first to go ESPECIALLY if they do not get us Writing.
