What was your favorite Nintendo (NES) game? Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Just out of curiosity I was wondering what were your favorite NES games in those days of yore when only 2 buttons were needed and things were fun by just jumping on platforms and clouds...

my favorite was

BIONIC COMMANDO

it was just so fun using the bionic arm, and the graphics, music and story were great even though the translation was hilariously bad.

other memorable titles were Castlevania 3, Battletoads, Ninja Gaiden II, Final Fantasy and Crystalis.

Mario 3 was indeed class. Remember Mario 2 though? Quite easily one of the oddest nightmares of the series

All MegaMans were good - though I took to 4 the most. Contras were fun. Double Dragon 2??? Oh man! So many more... those were good gaming days alright, but SNES was the best

Mario 2 was indeed good, but just a little too twisted. Then again my feverish dreams resulting from taking too much cough syrup while sick and having spent the entire day propelling Luigi up the side of an Arabic looking turnip hill didn't help this interpretation

Honestly though... I'd rather defend the intentions of a pedophile than whatever twisted world these game creators must dream as ideal

SMB 2 was wierd because it was based on a japanese game which was not related to mario in any way, the japanese SMB 2 never came out outside japan but was included as the "Lost Levels" in SM All-Stars for the SNES

Plus I hold SM2 better than SM3, but by a thin margin anyhow.

Contra. Definitely Contra.

Finally being able to beat the game without using the 30-lives code was like getting a little taste of heaven.

Shouldn't this be in Other Games?

I vote for Super Mario 1, the greatest game to be bundled with a system. Sonic was good, but he was just a Mario rerun. While I enjoyed all the Marios, #1 will always hold a special place in my heart.

But it still wasn't better than Civ. And nothing has been, either.

Hehehe Bubble Bobble on NES never made it in my youth until later, as a novelty when it was super old. Yet in Junior High days, I remember all of the cool kids a year older than us would go to Macs afterschool - smoke, drink slurpees, and try to get the high score on Bubble Bobble arcade. WOW, we watched from a distance in awe, I guess!

Hehehe yeah... the days of being 13 and just playing to build catapults and rape the AI. I had no idea of governments, and couldn't understand why I had a non-existant economy mid game
