Forget About Iraq. Best Be Looking Ahead. Remove this text

We all know that Iraq is going to come under fire, that's a done deal.
We know that Bush would like a democratic state set up in Iran. Count that as a done deal.

Looking ahead, to stuff that matters that need to be considered, and some of it revolves around North Korea.

North Korea, in and of itself, is a no-sweat situation.
But then there's who has worried me the most all my life. China.
And related to this also, Japan.

I'm read newspaper articles (regular city papers, not some of your Chicken Little editions) calling for the U.S. to supply Japan with nukes, so as to hold off the howling hoardes of Chinese.

Like I said, China has always worried me, but do we really want to consider giving Japan nukes?
Sure, decades have passed since Pearl Harbor, but still...

Look ahead.
As Boddington's would say, "Discuss, please".

Full PM-box? Change here!

there is nothing Bush can do about Iran. He could invade
and then see the US troops decimated by the civilian population.

They may be a little bit unhappy with their rulers but they really don't want the US to liberate them.

The japs could build nukes in a week if they wanted so its irrelevant

Tired of ads?

If the Japanese really wanted nukes, they could build their own. Perhaps the fact they have not has something to do with being the only people who have ever been on the receiving end?

Sloww, I agree with you there.. though I do not think NK is no-sweater..

Also Iran might be a problem.. I mean they KNOW they're next in line. They must have lots of plans and evil stuff in their pretty little heads now.

If I were in power, I'd attack Iraq NOW, and Iran too. Iran attack would be based on secret plans, and it would be total surprise attack. Kill the leaders and fundamentalist groups. No one left alive, if someone wants to protest and shout Jihad... fine.. have a bullet too. Pound them into total submission. There will be riots and things heating in Saudi Arabia, rebels would rise up and kick the royal family away, so right about then, attack Saudi Arabia. Then cool things down a bit, but get things ready for full attack on NK. Ask them to give up, and if they don't, full attack right away. After that Syria, and other rogue countries.

I was under the impression that the Japanese constitution forbids the acquiring of nukes. Might be wrong though.

Either way, it's hardly prudent to spread the nukes around to even more countries than those who have them already.

Plus Japan is under the protecetive nuclear umbrella of the US as it is.

I'd expect lots of happenings in Pakistan at time of my surprise attacks, so we should be able to pound Pakistan into submission also, they being nuclear nation.

These countries know that the US is going one by one, and they are not waiting for it, they only appear to wait for it and play mr nice guy. They can't be doing it however, they're planning right now as we speak, they KNOW it's going to happen. So we need to take them all out, back of the sauna, together right now. It's the best chance. THey're plaing dumb, lets not fall for that one.
EU is going to ***** about it, but Russia is one of the keys to this, they need to back it up too. Promise them lots of good, deals etc.

What Bush wants in Iran is what every other US administration has wanted there: a pro-American government. If it's democratic, great! If it's a police state built on torture and mass terror, great!

Pekka: great satire.

I'm willing to bet that in 10 or 20 years, Iran'll be relatively democratic. Iran has been making huge steps lately. Going to war with them would be an incredibly foolish thing.

uh Clem, well maybe I was over reacting there .

But I do agree with Slowws first post. And I do believe that these countries know they will be in line of fire too some day, and are preparing for it and playing dumb.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Besides, this is the biggest problem of the west. It's either underestimating or overestimating.
I don't want to hear it's impossible, damn it let's JUST DO IT! What are we waiting for? That these countries stops harboring terrorism and making evil plans and suddenly decides to put their effort to make the most beautiful flowers in the world and promoting love? Not gonna happen.
It's the craziest plan that will work after all.
But I have to say we must think about peace too, and what's going to happen after wars, so maybe my plan is not the best one, but I'm telling you it would work if we would just put our heads together and really make the ideas flow around the room.

But sure, let's give peace a chance first..

Of course we're not laughing.. I mean, I do agree with your post. Most of the people are thinking Iraq is not the biggest problem, just something in the way before the real thing starts.

I'm always worrying about the quiet ones, not the loud ones, so I am wondering what China is thinking now, and some other countries too.

When the Congress puts through the appropriations to double the size of the US armed forces - four Marine divisions, 20 Army, and all the supporting pukes, then I'll be interested.

Otherwise, it's all delusion based on the notion that if we say "boo" the rest of the world will roll over and play dead.

A ten division Army and two divisions of Marines playing "let's conquer the world" is a ****ing joke.

Unless Rumsfeld's brilliant plan is to arm Kurd rebels and have them provide occupation security in Iraq, with the promise that they'll give back their guns and accept being a permanent minority without a homeland.

Or maybe it's that after an ex-Iraqi soldier promises he'll be good and says the pledge of allegiance, we'll give him his gun back and make him part of the occupation force, to free the US military to go invade someone else.

Oooooooh-kay...

right, let's all move our attention to North Korea, exactly at the time Mr George Warmonger Bush decides on going rampant in the Middle east, of course my good friend, that absolutely makes sense!

Maybe at the same time we could stop worrying about exhaust fumes and the like, because in the future we will use teleporters anyway so those old problems will be solved , so why don't we discuss about that...

good point slowwhand!

MtG, you illustrate my point to perfection.
By the time you, and others, start "being interested", THAT will be a done deal, too.

And Trajan, you can keep making barbs at me, all you want; but you're wasting time.
You think I'm such a war-damned-monger, and here I am, trying to people to get interested, now.

You act like I'm the only one who has ever had anxieties over China.
I have a News Flash for you, I'm not all that much a paranoid.
You can count it as fact that if I've been anxious, others that make decisions, have had moments of anxiety.

That's cool. Just keep thinking I'm foaming at the mouth.
That will be your mistake, not mine.

Why sure, sloww - Bush is surely going to put a $400 billion a year increase in the military budget to recruit and equip a force of that size within the next 5 years. We've got a booming economy, huge budget surpluses, and highly qualifies people just waiting to enlist, but turned away in droves by the present limits. And we've got spare bases just sitting there ready to accomodate those new divisions.

They must have some really good homegrown down there in Texas.

we dont need to invade iran. I think everyone knows that. The Iranian regime is teetering right now. The establishment of an Iraqi model, a base for propoganda, and a base for containing and Iranian aggression or support for terrorism should be enough to tilt the balance in Iran. Maybe.
