Please anybody help me with
1) I upgraded my comp, now it have ASUS GeForceTi4200 AGP8x videocard and Win Millenium. But when I lunch Civ3 a frequency of screen switch to 60Hz. Its impossible to play with it.
If anybody know how to resolve this problem tell me about it.

2) In multiplayer hot seat game even when I set difficulty of AI on max level computer play same to easiest in single game. Its not interesting for me with my friends to play against such fool opponents.
Please tell me a way to improve AI quality in multiplayer game.

Thx.

Do you normally run your computer at 1024x768? I'm guessing you normally run at a higher resolution than that.

You have two options: dig around the appropriate control panel and make sure your monitor is set at the right refresh rate when it's set to 1024x768.

The better solution is to edit the *.ini file and add the line "KeepRes=1" That will cause Civ III to keep your normal resolution (and I'm betting the normal refresh rate as well).

If you normally run your computer at less than 1024x768, then no soup for joo!

As for the AI, there really isn't anything you can do about that except to play at a higher difficulty level (where the AI opponents receive various attack, build, etc. bonuses… it doesn't really get any smarter).

Full PM-box? Change here!

Add line, depending on refresh mode of computer (vertical refresh rate of monitor or what it will handle)

Refresh=75

or whatever.

Best to set up the graphic's card for 'Optimal' refresh rate in the (usually) 'Advanced' command button of the 'Settings' screen after right-clicking on the Desktop, if it is still the same. If it is not, then finding out about Windows XP is something that one would have to do, and I am not familiar with the OS.

If Windows 2000, then I have to maually set the Refresh Rate of the video card to a certain number like -- 75 on the command button screen. If going to 1600 x 1200, it will not automatically adjust like home editions of OS's since it is the Professional version, so I have to change it to Refresh of 60 for that mode. Other modes with the video card with up to refresh rate of 85, with my video card and monitor (usually the monitor).
