Togas,
Please don't think that I was going to leave you out in the cold. I was going to recomend you head up the Forgien Affairs department. Arnelos is a fair and Just dipolmat, you, on the other hand, are able to see a goal and organize a group of ambassadors to achieve that goal.

Now this may seem like a plot to undermine the RP team, but it isn't. The team thing for me was strictly for education on the multi-site game. The multi-site game has come, so the team game is going to play second fiddle (or third after the SPDG) in my book. I hope that everyone sees the importance of the Intersite game over the team game.

He has shown me to be the best diplomat in the SPDG (him or Unorthodox, wherever he dissapeard to). An ideal candidate.

Now Arnelos, before you go touting about how you don't have time for this and the SPDG and the PTWteam game, lets just remember that this intersite game is MUCH more important than the PTWteam game.

I'm honestly flattered. I'm leaving town for the weekend tomorrow morning and I'm currently packing for that, so you won't hear any more from me on the subject until at least Monday.

As for PTWDG, SPDG and inter-site commitments, Togas is correct that my RP Team responsibilities were scaled back significantly from VP (along with FAM and DM stuff) to doing only DM work and some FAM consulting (not a whole lot of it, unfortunately). I just don't have as much time as I did when I was SPDG President (you have a lot more time when you're between jobs in RL ).

I honestly CANNOT commit to even running for a position yet because my long-term schedule is extremely up in the air at the moment. Between job prospects and other things going on in RL, I really don't have a clue what my schedule is going to look like by the time this game starts.

So while if I have the time, I'd be willing to consider it, I just can't promise anything right now.

I'm with ya, Donegeal. We both started PTW teams for fun and practice for this big one. Of course, those team games have taken on a life of their own and have started to become a very interesting battle of ideologies and opposing playstyles. My position on the team game takes up a good deal of my "Poly time" but I don't want to lose sight of the bigger picture. I'm going to have to make slight adjustments to be able to give this team the dedication level it deserves.

I think that I can handle doing some things for this game, as it will likely progress as fast as the Inter-team Game.

With that in mind, I would like to work on the Domestic angle in the game.

Given that MrWIA is on my "short list" of people I'd like to see in the leadership of this game, this is AWESOME news

Good to have you back

Exactly... that's should be a democratic election too.
So a representative board, who appoints 'halfdefined' positions,
will consist of a variety and most likely to act fair and square.

'halfdefined' meaning all from generals and diplomats to an official story writer. (well, if not one Markos picks out then, since he is indeed owner of this site)

I completely disagree. We should let the consuls choose their own team. Otherwise things couldn't go as good as desirable. I don't understand why there is so much interest in limiting the president/consuls power. The consuls can be replaced anytime the majority wants by casting a no-con vote. So, why make their work more difficult? Why obstruct them?

Ok oliverfa, you say you want to make their job easy... So do I !

Think about a group of 3 teammates applying for the same position. And one president who will have to make a decision on his own. The three guys are all experienced Apolytoners and civplayers. - It would be a fairly difficult job for that president.

And what if one of the appicants was "kinda prez-buddy extravagante"?
- The prez could legally appoint him just to make it easy for himself... Even though I would never have done that.

Don't you worry man, I know exactly where bueraucracy will limit gameplay. in-game The autonomy of the turnplayer's power should then only apply to the in-game decisions he has to make. We don't need any more autonomy than that, pronto.

Just relax, we do not need a bueraucratic complex system for this appointing stuff, just one which is fair to the applicants.....
That's why people who do appoint other people should not do that on their own! To compromise, even the three elected Consuls could represent one such board of appointers.
Even though five is better.

We have different opinions. But I am happy that we can debate about them. Of course I hope to win!

At least we agree in the fundamentals!

But that what's his job is suppose to be... Anyway, nothing prevents the president from running a poll to consult the people when he has doubts about what to do or he feels the decission is important enough to consult it with the people (i.e: changing government type). Even more, the president is suposed to consult the forum to pulse the opinion of the Apolytons.

Are you thinking about someone? Because your descriptions makes someone come to my mind!!!

If the president feels it is needed for his strategy, he should do. If the president runs a bad leading, then I would be the first to call a no-con vote, but I don't want to question every action he takes.

Maybe I overreacted. I apologize for that.

Five consuls? That's too much! As Napoleon said: "If you want something to be done name someone in charge. If you want it not to be done name a commitee.

Ok, this is a good discussion, even though we share different opinions.

I do disagree in having one person appointing other people.
Even though Napoleon would agree with you, I think ut could be unfair to lots of Apolytoners when they are not appointed by some more people, or elected.

As I said, to make a compromise which is easy to play with, the three Consuls can be in charge of appointing people.

BTW: You had a "prez-buddy-extravagante" in mind? Who could it be?

Look at the internal Apolyton game and you will see him ;-) And no, I'm not talking about our president.
