Hey. If you aren't a DL, just ignore the yells of "DL! DL! DL!". I know, they're deafening yells, but ignore them.

Coming to a gaming site isn't the best idea for solving a problem non-gaming-related, BTW.

(And if you are a DL, whose are you? AH has already been ruled out and he's a good 25% of all DLs anyway. )

DL's are an underclass here. They have no rights. They lead a dangerous existence on the margins of the Apolyton community. They have feelings too you know. Somebody will probably make a documentary about their plight one day. Those DL's who speak out will be banned automatically of course. They can't win. Let's have more compassion for DL's.

Some of the OT posters are vicious, most aren't.
Some are actually pretty nice once you get to know them, and they stop bristling.

I never got a DL dance when I first posted OT.
Something to do with lurking for awhile, and not starting new threads tends to keep people off the back of new posters. It helps if you are not a settler, since settlers have 0 posts.

Maybe something for the FAQ, or a topped thread? Tips for newbies?

Really though, if you replace "DL" with "Settler" in AH's post it actually really is true. We need to show some care about the n00bs. Because we were all n00bs one day, and we'll always be n00bs at heart.

(Actually, "n00b" is a pretty derogatory term for Settlers, so I guess using it at all puts them down. However, I can't change my language. We need to understand that we're all n00bs, so thus putting any one down for being a n00b would become impossible.)
