	Are new people allowed on the forums? Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

I'm just wondering if theres some unwritten rule that you must continously harass a settler once hes arrived on Apolyton?

I post in the OT and suddenly a huge barrage of "DL" came. I know this means double-login, but I thought it was a forum joke, not tar and feathers to scare newbies away.

Don't let that scare you away. Get a few posts under your belt and try to make intelligent contributions to existing threads. The fact that your first post was a thread in the OT about a rather far-fetched sounding problem didn't help any either. But if you are truly a real person, just keep at it.

Well, in the normal parts of these boards, being a settler is just fine. But OT... well, it's a jungle out there, son. Personally, I don't have a problem with Settlers, and I actually post in the OT occasionally. But there are so many people that register DL's to do some flaming or trolling in the OT, that if you are a settler it is almost an automatic assumption that you are one.

So, my advice to you is, don't leave the forums altogether, but spend some time with people who actually have lives over at the on-topic part, get some post count, and then dive into the OT.

Oh, and you won't get beyond settler in the OT, did you know? The posts there don't count.

Only problem with that is: I dont own ANY of the games that the rest of Apolyton deals with and that means I can't add anything to the discussions taking place. Plus, I have a problem that I need solved.

For your information, Ming, I was playing a game of Age of Kings and I overheard a few of the players speaking about a game called "Rise of Nations". I was bored, so I decided to search it up and I found this site. I hung around for a few and then decided to post one of my problems.

Hopefully that will explain it for the moderators and the members.

Well, actually, I don't want to sound "aggressive" or what not, and it is sad if a real person is held as a DL, but Ming is right. If you just want to solve that family problem, then a game forum isn't quite the place to go. I mean, it is first and foremost the place to talk about civ games. And in the off-topic, the members of the community talk about ... off-topic things. Once again, I am not sure it is the best place to solve your problems like that.

Otherwise, these forums are a great place for discussions on games, RoN, included.

I have no idea what a proxy server is, so I can't really say anything about that.

However I changed my e-mail address because this forum actually required a REAL e-mail address to post. And still, I dont see whats wrong with posting an off topic problem in well, the off topic forum.

However, I can see that I've clearly overstayed my welcome. When the people begin to harass me and then the moderators, then clearly I'm not welcome here at all.
