Back on Topic,
The world IS allready doing a lot to stop 'American Agression', as Che puts it.
I'm not properly aware what happens outside Europe, but in Europe there is strong opposition, see France's and Germany's position. Especially Germany is puuting its butt on the line, and that is about as much that can be done.
Certainly starting a war against the US is not going to solve anything, let alone that it would not be feasable.
Then there is the Chinese that oppose the US.
Then there is al-Qaeda that is opposing the US, although they choose the dead-end street to do so.
The US got its butt kicked in Somalia, and there are many more African nations that are not exactly friendly to the US.
The list can be made to great length.
Every time the US starts bringing peace to a country/nation/people by bombing them, they are baffled by the fact the bombs aren't welcomed by cheering crowds.
The real problem is that the US sees itself as 'the World', and all who oppose it are just not part of the world. Thus the conclusion is easily reached that the world doesn't oppose 'American Agression', and that the US itself should stop it.
That is very narrow minded. Take of your eye-caps. Opposition to the US is widespread and growing worldwide, in fact the US is isolating itself from the rest of the world-community at great speed.
I have the feeling Bush is a great fan of Randy Newman's 'Political Science'. Unfortunately the moron has no feeling for irony/sarcasm...
The US probably thinks they will be welcomed by the Iraqi's as well, they just have to remove the evil dictator. Unfortunately they will not be welcomed at all: the shi'ite in the south, and the Kurds in the north remember all too well what price one has to pay for standing with the US. I don't think they will fall for US BS again. They will have very few allies in there.
The world is doing what it can, but they are faced with a ferocious wounded predator that leeshes (sp?) out to anyone that comes close to it.
Another analogy that comes to mind is Don Quichote and his servent Sancho Panza. The Don is going to charge at the windmills, no matter how hard Sancho will argue they are not the Giants the Don sees in them.
Don Quichote will be struck hard by the windmills, and he will return to Sancho claiming he has done so well, and that Sancho knows dipsh!t of being a Knight...
How did that stoty end by the way? I forgot

Refuse, sure. France and Germany try to persuade the US out of it, but they won't take military action, or, probably economic sanctions because it would cost them too much. Leaving the US alone is about the only thing that can be done.
The problem of this war is that it is painted by the US government as a war against a dictator (which is true) but they want allies because of weapons of mass destruction (which is different, and they can't seem to be able to provide proof now). Of course Hussein is a dictator that should gotten rid of, but there are so many others, so why choose this one? And would Iraq fare any better without him, with all the dissent between the opposers? Liberate Iraq and lead it to civil war? Wait, if Iraq's oil production is screwed, does that hurt the US?
The only thing that could be done by other countries is point out that the US want to attack Iraq for reasons that are NOT what their government says. Then let Americans understand what that means.
