War!!! Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

Does anybody know of any good variations on the cardgame War? Just plain old War gets boring after awhile, while the Egyptian Rat **** variant is often quite painful. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

war was a great game when I was a kid. Great when you are real bored. Although the game does get boring after you play 2 games, then you are bored again

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

Crazy 8's is sort of a War variant, and it can be modified to accomodate more than one person (like Egyptian Rat ****), but sadly it runs into the problem of 8-hogging (where one person hogs all of the 8's in order to guarantee a win once they get down to 8 cards).
