Another such sign of the pending collapse of the American economy. Put an end to popups!

Yesterday, I was in the Glendale Galleria, the erstwhile largest shopping maul in America and the place where. ten years ago, President George Herbert Walker Bush attempted to jump start the American economy by buying a pair of socks at Penneys.

And, as I wandered down to the east end, I noticed the Victoria Secrets store was no longer there.

What does it say about the outlook of the American consumer when men are no longer going out and buying lingerie for their wives, mistresses and girlfriends? Are we looking at a future so bleak that our women are going to metamorphize into those hulking creatures that drive Russian tractors?

I say, bring back the go-go years of the 90's and babydoll negligees !!

Our economy is doing fine thank you very much, we're one of the least effected, by the recession, in the world atm IIRC.

So is ours, we've been growing steadily at about 3.5% for a few years now. Which is rather amazing considering the US is in such a doldrum, normally our economy would follow suit. It's quite an accomplishment for us.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

It may be a delayed recession to the UK and Canada. After all, Germany is especially being hard hit, and soon will France, probably.

Basically, don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Pfft. Delayed reaction. As soon as the American economy recovers, we're the first ones to see the benefits (since we're primary producers).

Well, in certain regions in Canada, the impending events of 2003 should serve to buoy an already strong economy...

Well the Kyoto legislation should take care of that.

(As he stares at his monitor for five minutes trying to think up a smart ass remark.)

Hah.

God, you Americans are pathetic and predictable.

Can we expect another failed invasion attempt after bits of Canada decline your ever-so-generous offer to join the US?

UK manufacturing has been poor for almost 2 years, retail and services were largely unaffected until about 6 months ago.
