I think that's pretty much coincidence though.

The plan to "create" the "macedonian" identity and then start an expansionist campaign to the western south (west as in west versus east during the cold war) was made by Tito.

And it is indeed funny that what was virtually a communist (granted and a bit nationalistic) scheme would go on after communism itself collapsed!

BTW FYROM's expansionist desires were seriously curtailed after it HAD to recognize rights to its albanian population which comprises about 40% of its total population!
Tragic for FYROM (or maybe not?) but beneficial for Greece.

No coincidence at all, similar circumstances, similar strategies.
The plan to "create" the "Palestinian" identity and use it in an expansionist campaitn against the "western south" was made by Nasser (no coincidence a good friend of Tito). And it is indeed funny that what was a Nasserist scheme would go on after Nasserism itself collapsed.
