No, youre not, because youve never been seriously threatened from FYROM, either by terrorism, or by conventional forces - well you WERE threatened, by Yugoslavia back in the 40's, but then you had the US behind you. US couldnt go into Yugo at that time without risking war with USSR. Once Yugo broke with USSR Tito had stopped threatening you, IIUC.

Not threatened because we made it clear that we can cripple them (and actually did so with the embargo) .

I like to think about this as giving the time to another young country to mature and let go of its nationalistic and expansionist rage WITHOUT actually thinking about spilling one drop pf blood from our or their soldiers

The issue with the name has got to beresovled though. It is a thorn in normal relations. We are also now their biggest foreign investor and their future lies with us.
Whichis good. We want to be friends not enemies with our neighboors.

A solution about the name must be made.

But now they will have an albanian majority in 10 years or so so we could maybe negotiaze a bit more easily with two ethnic peoples than just one. (just one ignites nationalism)

does the name Palestine imply a claim to the entire Palestine mandate????? Israel would settle for an end to terror, and a dropping of all territorial claims on Israel, including rights of return. However IMHO we have to prevail also about their name not just their constitution and their flag.

This must be done in such a way that will eradicate the propaganda of "Macedonians" trying to liberate all of Macedonia.

How this will be done?
I'm up for proposals but it has to be done because social engineering can do bad things in the Balkans and what is OK now will not be ok in 20 years.

I sincerely don't think we can settle for anything less and I sincerely think that is for the best of the region.

I mean they started calling themselves "Macedonians" in the late 20th century.
