Hmm...so why do some of these drug war pushing bureaucrats/politicians tell us pot smokers don't really go to jail? They claim only the dealers actually go to jail.

That's just the maximum sentence. It is rare that any jail time at all is imposed, especially on the first offense. As I said, he will get a slap on the wrists. Probably a fine and community service.

And who says that? I thought the drug war pushers usually highlighted the jail times for drugs as a deterrent to would-be users.
