No! It's happening... I have played for 3 hours without even noticing! Too much to do... too much to look at...
Help! I sense I won't be sleeping tonight! Too addictive... too involving! Arrrrrrrrrrgh....
This is based on the first few hours - my opinion may change as I get deeper - but I think this may be the most addictive game I've played since Civilization II.
Good-bye productivity.
(Disclaimer: I haven't gotten THAT deep yet - but judging by the way a few hours disappeared without notice...)

Good news!
Just save a little productivity to write a review.

Thanks, Jonah, for dropping by and giving us these little tidbits. They really do make my day. Especially the alt-tab trick.
Also nice to hear both you and Gabe from PA saying the same sort of thing - you start playing, and the time flies by.

I dunno, the bragging about how he's already got the game is really starting to get on my nerves. Granted, he's more of a font of info than those jerks over at QS/IG, but still...it seems like he's degenerated into a bragging phase...

We talking NWN big, Max Payne big...or Civ III size? |
Not bad - 800MB.

It could very be out by next week - or even by Friday. They already have printed manuals and production CDs. Doesn't take much more than that.

Yeah, but does anyone want to look like HER? Ick.
Furthermore, she wasn't exactly the most successful - I haven't seen one new British colony, and part of the the British empire gained autonomy during her tenure.
Giant wuss, she was. Couldn't even handle a Nommo.

The only slight problem I have is that sometimes I feel the game is playing without me. Sometimes a tad too automated.

The thing I am really learning how to do is manage taxation; military spending is VERY KEY in this game. If you expand too quickly, you'll divert too many build points from defense into colony ships, etc.
This is the first truly OPERATIC game I've played in a loooooooong while. It's more like Master of Orion 1 crossed with Europa Universalis.

Jonah, your comments have far more worth than any reviews I've seen thus far. I want to hear things like this. |
I agree! PLEASE keep on posting Jonah!
