I received from Santa Troll (Unlike traditional Santa, Trolldoms Beared St Nic rewards for absolutely Sucking at this game) a new PC Win 2000 XP Professional Athlon 1.5 gig with 512 Ram 64 bit Radeon Graphics Card 80 Gig HD. Not a Bad system, but am having some probelms.
In a game I was playing online this evening, I played about 2 hours, saved several times, went to reload, got a message, SCENARIO NOT FOUND...
Strange, didnt have a scenario activated, and this has happened several times, over the past month since I got this.
Another thing, some people cannot join, most can some cant join me in a game...it just sits trying to connect.
Any suggestions?
Thanks In Advance

Maybe so but if you use a hub and simply install ctp none of the problems you experience should happen.
I installed ctp on 9 winxp computers today and none of them going though routers and hubs, together and separate experienced your problem...
Odd for sure, are you trying to make a modification run with our help?
I sure hope not...
Tomorrow I have 9 more computers to test if it comes up 100% I would reformat and reinstall my xp if I were you. Good advice considering only a few have this problem and so far none of the machines I have tested experience the problem. 100% so far.
The only time I have seen your problem is if you are trying to long on as two players from the same service, ...Or you have modified the game and or you and or them are using cracks, cheats and or game program cheats or you have been making senarios before playing without rebooting. Or your opponent is running or doing any of the above, and game gliches which does not count in this senerio.
Mind you tweaking xp can be dangerous if you do not know what you are doing. Word to the wise if you are not familiar with the inner workings of xp do not adjust, modify and or tweak your xp settings just because someone said it is the right thing to do. Toooooo many things can go wrong.
So reformat and have a look, I will let you know how the other nine go tomorrow.

Troll, the only way I know to get a message" SCENARIO NOT FOUND" is when you save a game as a scenario and then you try to load it without having completed the appropriate process to create the folders and files in the scenario folder.
Are you sure the save you are trying to load hadn't been originally saved as scenario?
I run Windows XP on Athlon processor for over a year and never had a problem with "SCENARIO NOT FOUND" messages or multiplayer games. The only problem I ever expirienced in multiplayer was that I could not join or host a game with an opponent from Australia (Ricketyclik) but the problem was solved when someone else from North America (Pete) hosted the game and both me and Ricketyclik joinned and then Pete resigned.
So I presume that distance, bandwidth and backbone conditions can prevent people from playing together a multiplayer game.
Also I've heared that the QoS service that is installed by default in new network connections, including dialup in the Windows XP uses lot of bandwidth that can slow down your Internet experience, something that can be crucial in CtP multiplayer games. I did had some speed problems until I uninstalled the service. Not sure if the Service Pack corrects this problem though. Haven't tested it since then so I cannot verify it 100%.

Pete
What do you mean by a modification run?
I am not "trying" anything, other than "Trying" to get this to work?
My symptoms are simple and clear, as stated, the answers , however, seem complex?
I am not, however using any cheat programs, modifying XP,using Hack programs.
I have stated this numerous occasion and many time in multiple forums.
I am simply trying to get this to work.
OK, so you have 9X tested CTP on XP with No problems. Me, I am having them. Not with all people mind you, just a few. Not all games I play mind you, just a few. It has been my experience when I have left the const.txt file from a scenario activated, instead of replacing with default file, people cant get into my game. But you can, most in fact can, some however cant.?? No I dont use any other program and No I dont use any modification to XP, I totally agree this could and can be dangerous. AS for my opponents, well, I dont know 100% for sure, but wouldnt they be rejected from my games if so? our databases should be out of sync?
The only issue I addressed, which came AFTER my problems, was right clicking on CTP.exe for compatibility issues and that did nothing for me nor my problem.
Thanks Pete for the assist!
For others I play with Erni from Deutchland, a fella from South Africa and some from North America. I only save the normal way, but thanks for asking.
For the record, Pete, I wonder why the other night, you could get to my game and vice versus, but David Ffloyd couldnt?? A perfect example of what I was referring to on a related issue. I completely removed Call To Power from my PC and will let it rest a few days, maybe I will reinstall, maybe not..
Thanks folks for all suggestions!

I agree, so about 6 reinstalls ago I decided to not install any scenarios, and it still did it. Very Frustrating indeed.
AS for joining a game I have Cable and other such as god had great pings, like 100-140 and they could not join. Erni from Deutchland, whom I usually play at least once a week, maybe 5-7 hours straight, no problems what-so-ever- with exception of loading a saved game, I get the message "Scenario-Not-Found" as well as with a player named Warlord Tormann and one game with a player named Stalin and one with another fella, but I forget whom that was, plus as stated I play when no one is online, have dynamic join on and will save and reload that game while waiting for someone to show up. Sometimes I can reload it but sometimes I get the message "Scenario Not Found"
Peace
