It is a typical line up of the usual suspects, and Kennedy's attendance will only lend weight to a bunch of freaks who've always dominated the periphery of mainstream politics.

Incidentally, Ming, I've read your topped thread about war threads. This is about the "far-left" and direct action - it just happens that Iraq is the subject of this particular protest. It could quite easily be Palestine or anything...

It wasn't a propaganda piece. He wasn't trying to support saddam's viewpoint, just presenting it as is. I thought the questions were entirely neutral in every way.

He himself doesn't believe many of Saddam's answers. However, he was given the chance to interview Saddam on Saddam's terms or none, and I think he made the entirely right one. It's still an interesting piece of footage.

Benn is a deeply democratic idealist with strong pacifist leanings, who speaks passionately of his World War II experiences and is incredibly radical for such an old man. One of the finest people I've ever had the pleasure to hear speak.
