I agree with Arnelos; there is little point in attacking a nation of two cities that poses no threat to us.

Eegads...:::supplies bandaids and splints for the poor horsey:::
No point? Little to gain? I realize I'm a little new around here, but didn't these same Persians commit an act which meets the following description?
1. Willful betrayal of fidelity, confidence, or trust; perfidy.
2. The act or an instance of such betrayal.
That is Webster's definition of treachery. What is the penalty for an act of treachery against Apolytonia?
A. A shake of the head and a woeful "tsk, tsk, tsk" directed at the perpetrators of the act
or
B. The certainly that your ass will be a target of the Apoytonian boot of justice as long your sorry carcasses pollute the landscape of this planet?
Let us take this opportunity to make Hamadan an event that will stick in the world's collective mind until the end of time; there is no land so rich and no prize so valuable to be worth incurring Apolyton's wrath. To do so is simply to sign your own death warrant.
Hamadan is also strategically located; once we pump its culture, it can be used to prevent Greek and Aztec armies to freely move between them in the event of an alliance against us.
Less importantly, in the event of a war with either of these two powers, were we to ask for cities in exchange for peace, it makes the western Aztec or Northeastern Greek cities possible prizes, as they can be immediately linked to our great nation.
If Franklin Delano Roosevelt were Persian, he would say "We have nothing to fear but Fear itself. Fear itself, however, appears to be approaching from the southeast."

I maintain that there is little point; if anything, the world would see our glorious nation as little more than a bully. Are we a nation willing to be seen as a bully, a nation willing to use its military might to smash a small, defenseless, about to be destroyed nation into the ground merely because we can? I think that we are better than that. Let the others destroy the Persians, let them be seen as bullies and aggressors. Apolyton should turn its focus to the future, towards building up our infrastructure and modernizing our military (for defensive purposes only, of course).

I ask what the point of another war is. We have already attained dominance over this world, and we are powerful enough to maintain that dominance through the end of the game. Our resources and efforts must be focused on our infrastructure and modernizing our defensive military; to do otherwise would be sheer folly. Another war would only distract us from maintaining our dominance through economic and political means.

I completely agree, Aggie. I think we can count around 30 active members, at the most, and not all of them interested in administrative jobs (and we need that, our Empire is huge and difficult to manage). In fact, we don't have any challenge... We already won this game. If this is really the case, we should go for a diplomacy victory.
IMHO, a war with Japan could give a "shine" to this game again (all that planning, logistics and discussions... This means fun! ).
Otherwise, we should finish this game ASAP (diplo way) and start a new one.
As Aggie, I intend to be here until the end, no matter what kind of victory.
