I still find it humorous. Seems like I'm not the only one.

The controllers are so big!

What I find more amusing is how everyone was so fixated on how bad the Xbox controller was and how great the GCN controller was when it launched, and a bit over a year later and most people prefer the Xbox controller to the Gamecube.

See the IGN HeadToHeads and take note of the Controls sections.

I greatly prefer the Xbox controller to the Gamecube, because all of the buttons are useful and accessible. And I haven't had to replace an Xbox controller yet, but one of my GCN controller's b button got messed up from use too.

The GCN's controller was clearly designed with a 10-year old in mind, regardless of all the people who claim otherwise. It's just REALLY obvious...

Do you have any sense of humor, Glonky? We're trying to have fun and you're busy quoting IGN...

Clearly. Now let's leave the ambiguity in that statement so that both of us can walk away feeling superior to the other...

They are all accessible on the GC controller as well. I haven't had to replace my controller either.

While they may be accessible, there's not that many useful buttons.

The Xbox controller is just a much better design, technologically. It's got a high speed 11Mbps connection rather than a ~500Kbps serial connection like the Gamecube, which allows for peripherals like the voice communicator to go in it. It allows for memory cards, one per controller (rather than two per system). Every button except for the Start/Back button are analog, the triggers have more travel and feel much more stable than the GCN's, there's a USEFUL d-pad, and two USEFUL analog sticks, and a bunch more buttons...

Ever heard the phrase "flogging a dead horse"?

It was flogged to death for months during Xbox's launch, and we're regurgitating it now.

You're right, Drake, this is funny.

It's "beating a dead horse" down here. "Flogging" has an entirely different meaning that I don't think you intended...

One of my friends made a synonym for sex "frogging", named after the French, since they're famous lovers.

Is Nebraska the only places in the world to butcher the phrase "flogging a dead horse", or is this common place elsewhere?

I've never heard of "flogging" a dead horse. I've heard of "flogging the dolphin", however, and engage in it on a regular basis.
