	New ISDG Icon? Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Does anyone think that "I DG A" icon just doesn't fit the scope of this game?

Should we find a new icon? If so, what should it look like?

I agree the current icon is a bit uniform. But I have no idea what it should look like. We don't exactly have an idealogy that can be represented, like most teams in the Intrasite PTWDG.

Yes, Ghengisfarb would be quite useful, but what elements would he incorporate?

Something symbolizing Hellas?

Unity?

What else is there?

What about using the letter "A" in some sort of a shield, bearing the colours we'd choose for our civ? Something similar to what Voxes use in the Poly PtWDG...

On a more serious note - how about an icon like Voxes, in the team colour, light blue, with a big A on it.

(Given that I am Canadian, I should emphasize that that is an "A", and not an "eh".)

I joined GS just a couple days ago, didn't have the time to participate until then. The reading in the strategy forum has dropped off a bit lately, and I had to see just what those 8k post they had were all about.

Sadly I was too late to advise on our color scheme.

I tried to create some sort of a fancier icon for our ISDG team... I am no GhenghisFarb, though. Here is the best I could do (just an idea, no "official" proposal! ):



Any ideas whether or how to improve it? The triangle shield behind uses the pale Spanish blue we chose (with a dark blue edge), the "A" in the foreground is white with dark grey outline...

It is a very outstanding Icon. Probably the other teams won't ever see it, but it creates a nice distinction to all those icons on this Forum that are so alike.

Just a triangle, just a triangle... but thinking of it, I probably could make into a "V" for vondrack, pretending it's "V" for victory...

I started with the shape Voxes and GoW use but that was ugly as hell when combined with the letter "A". So then I thought about a shape that would be sort of a reflection on the "A" motive.

As far as adding more colour... that is difficult to do, as the whole icon must be 15x19 pixels in size. Currently, the background triangle shield is almost that size, and the "A" letter, too. Unless I change the colour of the letter, I can hardly add any more colour without completely redesigning the whole thing...

The A and the V reflecting the names of the would-be winners in the intersiteDG and PTWDG respectively.

It was never 3D, Trip...

It was created in Illustrator (2D vector), then rasterized, and eventually hand retouched/enhanced in PhotoShop. If you wish, I can send you the source files (or you can use the GIF file directly)... if you can make it sharper, I'd be grateful - I spent about two hours messing with all those pixels, but the posted image is the best I was able to get. I am not that good when it comes to pictures this small...

I like Tiberius' variation of Vondracks. It has the "A", and it shows the blue colour better. It also doesn't have V for Vondrack behind the "A"...
