Differences between US and UK? Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

hi,

I am really glad to post my first posting here in this apolyton forum.
First I want you to forgive my really bad language and grammar knowledge, because I come from Germany and I am not really that language as.

Back to the Topic.
As we can see that the german version with a german manual was canceled, all of us from moo3 planet asked themselves, what we can do next.

Finally we see there are 2 Versions - US and UK.
Our Trader Amazon.de offers only the UK Version, but they can not say, what are the differences between that and US.
We speculate that the US Version eventually has a bigger manual and some other differences.
But that is not sure.
I simply dont want to buy a game for 50 $ in a dvd case and a 10 paged-instruction-manual.

And I hope one here has an answer of my question. Infogrames Germany is not really activ in this situation and doesnt answer our mails concerning this problem.

I hope u can help me, because the US Version is more expensive and it is not offer by Amazon.de

The U.S. version will use imperial measurements, e.g. length of starlanes will be given in Gigayards, and ship speed measured in Terafurlongs per weekend*.

*excludes national holidays, except during a leap year.

I know nothing about that but I really don't think that there will be a noticeable difference (if any at all) between the versions and the manual.

What I'd like to now is where you've seen that amazon will sell the UK version in Germany.

What Topic? 'Infogrames Germany' is known to be noncaring regarding US/UK versions.
And all differences between UK/US versions would be pure Speculations right now

I still doubt there is any difference at all besides the copy protection.

But Main_Brain is right, no one really knows and therefore no one can tell you. Why not ask IG? I doubt that they'd tell anyone, but it's worth a try.

In Canada we get the us version. It is two discs in sleeves (not jewel cases), the manual is supposed to be over a hundred pages thick and it comes in a mini-box.

Thanks rhofman Tired of ads?

Thanks for the info rhofman! My 2 cents are that there will be no real differences between the US and UK version other than the copyright.

The UK version will automatically pause for tea break every two hours and will apologize for kicking your butt. The US version will come with no-doze pills and will kick your butt without apology.

I don't think anyone really cares about the "version" (US or UK). The biggie is if it gets a MANUAL in Europe or not.

You may not know this in the US, but we USUALLY have to put up with POS 10 page leaflets for manuals over here as nearly all games gome in dvd style jewel cases.

Can you inagine trying to play MOO3 when the instructions are only on a .pdf !!!!

Well, they could always put it out in a mini-box, they have the same width and height of a DVD box but about 3 times the depth, enough for a chunky manual I've noticed that some games like RPG's and Compilations come that way, so maybe....

The aliens have green coloured blood in the UK version, red colored in the US version. Really.

Also the spelling is different.

Than light year is 5.88 time 10 to the 12th power miles (5,880,000,000,000 miles) or 9.46 time 10 to the 12th power km (9,460,000,000,000 km) Than AU (astronomical unit is the average distance between Sun and Earth ) is equal to 93 million miles or 150 time 10 to the 6th power km..

The light year is set equal to the distance which light will travel in 365 day of 24 hour each . They donot now change the value of the light year it the speed of light is measure more accurately as the change is now than the decimal like I than going to make this up let say I measure the speed of light as 186,282.589 miles per second. In astomony their only use 2 place to the right of the decimal point anyway as we donot measure stellar distance with any great accurate anyway.

Well, I suppose amazon shows whatever picture IG gave them:
it's a rendered Box in the US,
the same box, but "pressed"(as the Box would look on the designer's screen) to 2D in Germany and an antique E3 Poster in the UK.

But honestly: I don't know.

Sorry, you're completely right - I simply interpreted the mail from IG as it is. I would never deliberately deny the fact, that Poland is a part of europe - soon even the EU.
