Pact-vendetta-Pact Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Don't you just hate it when your pactmate also is in pact with someone you are at war against (vendetta). There could be a numerous reason why you would dislike this situation. I, myself have one peticular situation in mind. You are using your pactmates seabase to attack her pactmate (your enemy) with some airforce. Then on your way back to the pactmates seabase you find out that the enemy park her cruiser in it! Now you can't land your planes and you can't attack the cruiser, only one choice left: go back for a suicide attack on that earlier target.

So any thoughts?

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

You should be able to land your needlejets with no problem. Your Pactmate's city will accept any of their Pactmates units even if those two pactmates are at war. The base (but not the surrounding countryside) is kind of an arbitrary peace zone.

Just keep those needlejet pilots out of the bars. Could be a few brawls.

Oh! Wait a minute. Let me amend my earlier response.

You are quite right. The situation I described works only if you are the one with two pactmates and they are at war with each other and both stationed in the same (your) city. You get that warning about attacking your pactmate in the situation you describe.

Sometimes you can persuade your pactmate to become unfriendly with your enemy. A probing action against your pactmate, framing your enemy, could work. The direct diplomatic approach seldom works. Often you can corner the energy market with less energy credits than your pactmate will want to break pact with your enemy.

Even if you don't do anything, it seems to be an unstable situation that often resolves itself within ten to twenty years by way of a downgrading of your enemy's and your pactmates diplomatic status (good) or worsening relations between you and your pactmate (bad).

red,

Your advice is sort of the long term solution. My situation sort of need to be solved immediatly. Well, I guess you learn something in ala situations. Never trust your pactmate as "stepstone" when she is in pact with an enemy!

There are other situations that are similar: You are attacking the same enemy and have just killed of all her garrisons. Just about to enter and take over the "empty" base you realize that your pactmate (also your enemys pactmate) had parked her needlejet in it! So now you can't attack (unless you wanto break the pact) and you can't enter. Buh!

Have you ever gotten this to work in SP. I have, but never when the situation in PACT between them, only Treaty. I've tried over 100 times, specifically hoping that I was merely getting caught. But it's nevver worked.

knowhow2, yeah I can't think of any immediate solution. Kind of a preventative action would be keeping one unit stationed in your pactmate's city which should prevent your enemy from ever entering.

Fitz, I have tried and failed. I thought that it *should* be possible. But if you have tried it that many times, perhaps the game somehow prevents it. But if anyone has seen it work, please post and let us know.
