	We need to advertize a bit.... Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

I was brousing the forums looking up old threads for helping to put together the Jungle Gazette this weekend, when I noticed that many of the old intersite threads had been moved.

When I clicked and discovered that we had our own forum, I was needless to say kinda shocked. Admittatly, I have not been around as much lately as I was, but still. Someone should have said something.

OK OK, I will probably get a whole bunch of posts saying... look here at what Mark G did and what Dan Q posted here..... but ouch.

Guess this is just my way of saying that I just figured out what up and am trying to play catch up. Oh well. So, what civ are we and so forth....

I think that so far Betahound has been doing a lot of the work, so have people PM him I would guess. Don't know for sure. They can just click on the join in the civgroups and that will also get his attention, but perhaps not as fast. They will have to do that eventually however to have access to this forum.

It sort of hurts this game that its forum is buried...

Perhaps if you force BetaHound to PM markG about a news item; you might receive more applicants?

Betahound explaining the game and what an honor it will be to help apolyton,etc.

, what about a seperate forum or sub forum , ....

they would have to be closed , we could make a public thread inwhere events that have happend could be displayed , ....

but we really need to make sure that the playing stuff gets eyes only for the players , .... just a matter of security , old stuff and what has happend in the last turn(s) could be put in a newspaper or so , ......

and it would help if we as registered players can see a seperate forum under civ3

it would also be nice for the control panel

Hi guys. Mark had previously posted an advertisement/call to arms note on the civ3 main page. I posted threads in both the PTWDG and Civ3Demo game forums. GodKing is right though, once the forum was set up, some people may not have realized it. My apologies (why am I making so many apologies today).

At any rate, we probably do need some form of advertisement. If any one has any suggestions as to exactly what - please post here and we can discuss. And then yes - we can force BetaHound to do it.

As to the longer-term forum set up, I believe I will leave that to someone much more experienced than me. It has already occupied a fair bit of time just to get the game set up. I was also doing work on the inter-site forum at 1BC, and Vox Controli is still my first love. That is what got me to join Apolyton in the first place.

As to new folks joining - there is a new members thread. If people really want to be useful, they will check the names there, see if they can vouch for any of these folks, or if they know someone else who can. Donegeal has been great - but I need more input. Many thanks.

Yes, you have done a lot of work- but for starters- I didn't even know that this existed when i signed up ( i thought it was the MULITSITE demo game, not the civ III game )

Perhaps another announcement when it starts?
and perhaps ask mark to top the signup thread in the Civ III demogame section; or just in the regular Civ section.

What I find curious is that the Intersite Demogame is a subforum of the Civ 3 Demo game. Whereas the PTW practice game for the Intersite Demogame has its own forum and several subforums.

Which is the more important game?

I can make a call to arms in the Spanish Civ Site if you guys want... as far as I know only DarkCloud and me are in the IDG

Good idea, gonna do it.

Perhaps Markos or someone might want to put a "permanent" announcement on the Civ3 page too.

EDIT: or maybe not, perhaps we should limit ourselves to people of the "community"
