Yay!~ I just got massive free time! Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

Well, not really... just the 20 min a day I spend on Lux Invicta might goto intersite effort! (ok I exaggerate there, and Trip will be angry at me because I havent been following up day to day ... that and being so pessimist and cynical... )

anyways... WOW this forum has soo many posts already and I am totally lost! Someone seriously need to organize few things and top important information.. Few Qs here...

-Have we chosen a civ yet?
-Are we carthage?
-I've checked the neighbor thread... which sites are they from?
-And most important of all.. Have we started already?

Maybe trip will show up and straighten things out for me as usual..

Support Apolyton

I've made a game status thread for those who need some info. Hopefully someone can sticky it for me *hint hint*. I'll be continually adding information to it as more becomes known to me, and as the game progresses.

From the look of things, Trip could have really used someone more pessimistic than he is to remind him from time to time that his plans wouldn't turn out quite as he intended them...

Actually, I posted that BEFORE the mess in the other thread.

Seriously, on a far more friendly note, EVERYONE needs other people around them to kick them in the rear from time to time and save them from making large errors. Togas, Dejon, and I have certainly needed it on our team

So if you guys miscalculated and did something that lead to disaster, as I think you now recognize, it's not a besmirchment of you at all to suggest that it might have helped to have had someone around to be your devil's advocate and pessimist. Sometimes you can brush that aside because people are negative when there's no need to be and you know your plans are good, but other times people like that can save you from potential disaster.

Given the events that took place, I'd say having another pessimist or two around might not have been so bad for Lux Invicta.

Personally, I still would like to see Lux Invicta survive this (though I seem to be among a dwindling minority in the PTWDG game... ).

As for the mess in the other thread, I hope that's done with as well... we're ultimately all on the same team here, even if we occassionally get pissed at each other

It just seems as though that your posts mentioning me the past few days were either an attack or some sort of derogatory comment about either my character or my actions. Perhaps I'm mistaken. From what I've seen, not even Ghengis has been so fervent.

Lux's biggest downfall was its location... far away from resources, packed in with teams that got a head start from either better land or their traits (). I don't think Roleplay ever had to face such challenges. And don't say "you shouldn't have stepped on ND's toes" either, because lately things have been rather friendly, and Darekill explained that they knew they would have to either pit the Apolyton civs on the continent against each other, or destroy them. I think we figured out what they chose. It was just easier for them to choose.

Nelly, we didnt have enough man power to have as much advisors like RP probably does. Member list says we have 13, but at least 7 of them are under warlord level and not participating. And even some of "active" members like vlad, ixnay comment on the forum once in a full moon.

As far as I know the team was entirely by Trip, with some of BFM's effort and few of my dumb warnings + wild proposals.

anyway, didnt wanna sound like a sore loser there. Good game all!

I had heard that kids these days had poor reading skills, but c'mon...

Sorry guys, but I for one am getting tired of a few folks wading into this forum after some of us have put a fair bit of effort into getting the game set up, and then complaining about this and that. And you know who you are. Maybe I will put together a reading list that everybody has to go through before they open their mouths.

posted in the Civ Choice summary thread which was active for a lengthy period... and updated as team choices came in...

"Here are the choices of the other teams. I will update this as they come in - for now - only CGN has declared. And we are contacting Firaxis to see if they are going to submit choices or wait 'till the end. They are not voting in the game parameters either.

Gamecatcher: India, Egypt, Carthage

CDG:Persia,Vikings, Carthage

Apolyton: Carthage, Greece, Babylon

CFC: China, Persia, Japan

Grenouille: France, Carthage, Persia

Webring: Ottomans, Arabs, Egypt - loses coin toss and will play Arabia.

Firaxis: Ottomans, China, Carthage - but very late with civ choices, and were asked to re-pick. They have chosen Egypt.

CGN: Ottomans, Carthage, Persia - wins coin toss and will play Ottomans."

Fairly clear???!!!!!
