	Crash - look at advanced flight in Civilopedia Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

I am playing Civ III for the first time (I was pretty good at Civ II). I am near the end of the Industrial Age and I was trying to decide what to research next, from the Science Advisor page. I clicked on Advanced Flight and the Civilopedia entry for Amphibious Warfare came up. So I went to the Civilopedia and clicked on Advanced Flight. The game just crashed, without even an error message. I have installed the patch.

Has anybody heard of this happening? Any fix? When I was searching the forums for a possible answer I saw that I may not even need to research Advanced Flight because the units are not worth it.

This sounds similar to problems one or two people have reported where the science advisor screen isn't right and they could not select a particular tech to research. The whole thing is possibly one or more corrupted files. Reinstalling may solve it. You might wait to see if someone comes up with a better idea on the problem before doing that since I am not totally sure about this.

Advanced Flight is rather optional. I usually don't bother until I have got the important early techs in the modern age and then either go back and research it in 4 turns or trade for it.

a patch does good work , so does direct X 9 , ...

just reload your autosave to get past it
