What are the rules a regulations against teams using editors to figure out our troop positions and map data. iam sure we wont cheat but what about others?

Mr Mayor - this may sound either very naive, or very noble, but the answer to your question is that they agreed not to.

Teams are taking a pledge to police their own.

Is it actually possible to use the Editor to edit save files?

It must be possible to alter PBEM saves, or extract information from the saves that is not available to you in-game. I haven't seen anyone do this yet, but it must be possible.
Our only option is to trust the other teams. I, in any case, believe that the other team leaders are honest people, and that they will report any violation of the pledge and ban the offending player(s) immediately.

I agree with panag, we need a "judge" or someone acting like a "neutral observer".
Don't get me wrong, I trust in the team leaders. I don't trust in the mankind.

We do have a neutral game 'advisor'. It is mongoose of 1BC.

hi ,

Trip with terror in his voice , ..... "Save a PBEM game on your turn. Re-load it. All production will be bumped down 1 turn. Repeat ad infinitum. Send the game on when you have enough units."

now that is a hole , so how many others are there , ........

it urges one to be carefull , ....

example in one game all of a sudden a human player got like 100 tanks , ....

needless to say the game was over then , .....

this is the kind of stuff we should try to prevent and we should have several people checking it , ....

Having several people check every save game would take forever.

Way to drag all the fun out of the game.

Do we have a neutral observer of save games in the PTWDG? No.
Have we had any cheating problems in the PTWDG? No.

I admit that it is always a possibility, but what makes you think we'll have problems this time?
Do you think the other teams are less honest than us? It seems that you do ...

With all the microplanning in advance and strategizing that will be in the game, potential cheatings are likely to be caught easily.

it would be easy to check the game , ..... it would not take forever neither , .....

PTWDAG and this interside game are two different things , .......

nothing could happend , ..... but some people might do somethings out of a various number of reasons , .....

its better to be carefull then not to be , .....

I disagree. I think they are essentially the same thing. The fact that each team is from a different site is irrelevant.
The same principles apply, and the most important principle - fair play - has been agreed to by all teams in an Honesty Pledge in this game, just like it was in the PTWDG.

To insist on an impartial observer in the Intersite game when we happily did without one in our own team game (with no adverse results) would be equivalent to saying to all the other teams "We don't trust you". I don't think we want to go down that road.

Well actually I do still disagree, and I don't think it's a huge difference ... but since me and you are the only ones arguing about this now and nobody else seems to care I don't think it matters.
