Post removed, as requested. I guess this is one of those times that I assumed others would feel is I do, but it ended up not being the case. My bad.
By the way, 'Poly does not seem to email notify for some of the threads on this board...Anyone know why?

DeepO, I see your point and thought the same thing too. At the same time, my intention is not to slander Firaxis in any way, and I do not think Soren would be very offended. If you disagree, though, I'll gladly remove the quote.

Just give the necessary info so we can look at our start sooner rather then later..

Dom, I don't know... I think Soren wouldn't mind, but as we haven't asked him, I think the only right thing to do is to remove the quote. It's funny because it is embarassing to Firaxis, and I still value the company and their efforts, I don't want to embarass them.
They will probably be the first team to get in a losing position, as it is doubtful that they are going to put as much effort in this game as other teams, and many teams will see this as an opportunity to win from the makers of the game. Let's not overdo it

edit: BTW, Soren didn't respond to the answer I gave him, so I guess the turns from Firaxis are going to proceed slowly... most likely, they haven't opened the save yet.

Soren has reported the sending of the save file onward at 6:16 EST!

Post removed. But let me defend myself here: I am of the opinion that "sweeping things under the carpet" is not a very honest and open way to proceed. Yes, some things are potentially embarrassing, but some of these things deserve to be known. I'm not against Firaxis in any way, and do not care for those who give them bad press all the time. But closing your eyes to their faults and mistakes does not make these go away. I can bet you that Soren himself is glad to know firsthand the probems with PBEM, as it helps improve the company and one of its products (assuming he cares for Firaxis). It is a sorry state of affairs when a lead programmer of a small team has no idea of the major bugs in a piece of software he is working on. Keeping it all hush-hush helps no one. There is such a thing as constructive criticism.

Since this thread is limited to members only, the damage (if any) is already done. I personally didn't see anything wrong or particulary embarassing for Soren (I won't go over it here), you people are overacting. It's not like he admitted to peeing the bed at night!

An aside: is Soren the only member of the Firaxis team, or is he just the main guy that is playing the turns?. It would be funny to conduct diplomacy with the other developers...!
