Right now I don't have any but over the years I've had dogs, cats, birds, fish, a couple of rats (great pets), and several frogs which I raised from tadpoles. When I was in college one my roommates had a weazel (the animal not the European ) which was cool but he stunk to high hell.

ferret. That was the rodent with a long body I could not remember. If I could edit my poll I would.

my roomate had one. You had to watch him. He would crawl under your bed and **** under it. I always kept my door shut to keep him out of my room. He would bite your fingers too. Hate those things.

My roommate's ferret was a smart little devil he knew his name and would come when called. The down side is he would always wiggle into every little spot where we'd have a hard time getting him out plus he loved to piss on every girl who came over to our place. He hardly ever pissed on the guys but for some reason he got exceited around girls.

We currently have one fish. We orginally bought three, but under the great supervision of my sister two died.

Now the aquarium is in the living room. No one bothers to feed the poor fish except myself, and even I do it only once a week.

It barely moves... I think it's time to feed it.

The best way to keep fish is in an outdoor fish pond. If you get a good ecosystem going they can live off bugs and plants and other things and you don´t have to feed them. Plus the environment is a lot healthier for them, and they live a lot longer. Our goldfish Moby (so named because it is huge and white) is about 4 years old now. He ate about 500 tadpoles each spring in order to get to the size he is today. Our other fish pond has about ten goldfish, all feeder fish. They cost a dollar for the whole lot, and are thriving. They are too small to eat tadpoles, so that pond resulted in a huge crop of toads last year.

It looks like I am the only one so far to vote for iguana, snake, and tarantula. We don´t have these, but it would be cool if we did. My brother actually subscribed to a herpetology magazine for about a year once. Reptilies tend to be difficult to care for properly, though.

Cats are really all I care for. They are reasonably self-sufficient and independent, cleaner than any others, don't smell bad, make that wonderful purring noise, help control household pests and are just so damned cute.

A ferret would fit under other mammal, not rodents (just being technical here).

I have had oevr my years a couple of dogs (one currently), and a cat. I preffer dogs, though cats are OK.

I don't get Fish: they ae living decorations. Birds, such as parrots are Parakeets are fine, as are reptilkes. At least you can hold them without killing them, like Fish.

A friend of mine has a whole salt water coral reeks set up in his living room. The firsh and reef animals are really cool to look at and they make a great conversation piece.

The tank and equipement cost much denaro though and he says it was a pain in the ass to get everything growning the way it was supposed to.

Had a dog who died fairly recently. She was a great black lab, even rescued a case of beer that was floating out to sea once.
