FARC solution: Plausible or just too E X C I T I N G?!?! Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

Seeing as how I go into this knowing absolutely nothing of the size of terrain or populace under reign of our beloved car bombing, pig f*cking, coke running, Godless Che wannabe terrorists - you'll have to add practical clips to an abstract "battle" campaign I am about to lend you (and one that seems just all too easy!)

Now - to this point I know that FARC are a terrrorist group operating on some 300 hectorometres of cubic Tundra in the (maybe British)Columbian jungle stuff and waterfall lands. They have strong ties with Columbian druglords (as do few corrupt Columbian beauracrats & generals), yet as I now believe - FARC's ties are vast and near (if not) official - Correct? Whatever their glorious cause for communist revolution and the ensuing free land to brew truckloads of near toxic ethyl beverages from rotting carrots, it's more or less established that their methods are rather harsh and unorthodox - correct? It should be obvious even for militants who grew up in a dank jungle learning to brush any poisonous spiders off of the potonga leaf before wiping their ass instead of learning, oh say - basic arithmetic and how to function and influence change in a much more stable society... that blowing up innocent civilians is in any case, probably wrong!

(Here's where I have to throw a few of you broken records a bone, as THE USA HAS HAD ITS FAIR SHARE OF KILLING INNOCENT CIVILLIANS, yet there are plenty of threads to debate their punishment for such actions - for now we're dealing with a directionless organization which has so far NOT produced a coherent plan for society and multitude of pros to more than dwarf its ethical cons. Please take any deadlocked UsAS IS EVILERER THEN MY GOOD COMMIE GUYS thoughts to a relevant thread, thanks.)

So in all seriousness, I do not understand this. Why, if the US of America is doing such a good job in the initial stages of raping world evil, has a simple and obvious solution to the "FARC" cancer not yet been used? Get this:

-With acceptance of Columbia, the US lends military aid to erradicate FARC forces with a harsh and swift surprise air campaign!!!
-However many c-130s are realistically available for the (week long?) operation are loaded with daisy cutters and sent swarming the territory, dropping the 15, 000 pound goodies on any educated location of significant use, or any infrared blob that represents more than 5 people.
-With several thousand small mushroom clouds going up around you over several dozen horrific and sleepless hours, would you not disperse in a panic amongst the random and seemingly camouflaged jungle? This is where it gets good!
-B-52 bombers are quite possibly man's greatest creation, and I dare say one of the most beautiful vehicles ever concieved. What better than to now fly these suckers wingtip to wingtip out of home base and litter every square inch of this hostile land with cluster bombs? Now that the majority of the rebels are under a moss covered log in a pile of feces - these little devils are the perfect device to finish the job.
-After a few runs of the above, and once the fires subside, thousands of Columbian troops rush the remains to round up any prisoners, and take pictures of the remaining results (so people like skyjack 666 can post them here)

Now the problems:
-Civilians dotting the area might make this a little tricky!
-I'm sure the rebels must have dirty concubine baby factories, and babies are known to explode when subjected to bombing
-Can a C-130 even fly there and back from Texas? If not, I'm not one to gauge what's needed!

Do you support a basic plan of the like - why or why not?
Would it work - why or why not?

Hispanics are brown now? Wow that's quite a stretch on the Carlinesque pothead bullsh*t most losers quote. Yet here I though the Russians were best at killing white people as well?

I'm definitely serious, but must first plead ignorance on the case of FARC. Educate me on the specifics, yet:
-If they are involved in even half of the dirty activities accused, and
-They are not using a population of children and non FARC members as territorial shields (as most cowards unfortunately seem to)

...then let the bombs go where they're needed!

the fact that you advocate carpet bombing an entire country knowing full well countless civilians will be killed is probably acceptable because they are poor brown people in a country youve never been to and could really care less about.

FARC is a leftist group, so I'm on thier side. They would be in control if it wasn't for the CIA tring to subvert them, using the anti-drug excuse to go in, to keep Columbia in control of rightists and corporations.

Gee, for a second there I thought I specified it was of carpet bombing a PORTION OF THE COUNTRIES F*CKING JUNGLE IN WHICH FARC OPERATES EXCLUSIVELY, not the entire country. Learn English before you come on to piss me off again, or it's just a waste of both of our time.

...and no, it would be useless for me to learn Russian or whatever. Learn English, then have another go at this thread. If you can't, this is a club in which you're not allowed!

No-one actually likes Saddam, surely? they're just opposed to the US entering into a war with them. Whereas the FARC are by far the only thing resembling a good side in the mess that is Colombia's weak-state political system. Well, there was the legitimate democratic movement but the SoA-trained paramilitaries had them all asassinated.

Like a lot of places the US could get very involved if the price of oil goes up and the rebels keep sabotaging the pipeline.

but you know americans cant find their targets all the time. look at the chinese embassy, and your countrymen that we bombed. ok that was funny, i mean canadians getting their asses blown to bits by their "allies"

civilians live in that jungle too, but i guess its acceptable losses because you really dont care about them. you just care about looking tough on leftist rebelliion led astray. terrorists die, consequences be damned!

damn, if i knew it was this easy to provoke you i would have done it sooner

That's me!

To be honest, I'm probably as well-informed as anyone here on the domestic Colomibian situation- I've sat through a couple of lectures (one given by a pro-FARC group, admittedly) and done a whole load of seminar reading on it.

I just don't feel like expounding on it properly- otherwise I'd do it in the preexisting threads.

Which is something I specifically asked for clarification of - the civilian factor in their government granted area. So far all you've given is U KNOW THAT THE US ALWAYS BOMBS DA INNOCENTS AND WILL HAPPEN AGAIN LONG LIVE T-34

Actually no, forget that. I really do think you should learn English... now go back to your turnip stew and pile of welfare cheques!

name one time we havent killed civilians while trying to purge a country of a political orginization we dont approve of?

i think causing the death of one innocent in a nation is unnacceptable losses. it encourages anti american sentiment and that bites us in the ass.

A single innocent civilian will die in a month of elementary school field trips, for God's sake. Here I'm assuming that the inevitable civilian death will be outweighed by the hopeful eradication of the current "car bomb and kidnap civilian populations" FARC openly embraces

Buck: Well then probably you should do a lot more research if you want less biased views on the situation (and I don't mean U.S government speeches, of course).

Unfortunately people who don't know Spanish and haven't been there usually have quite a hard time imagining how things on the ground really look like these days....

but will the death be caused by americans? will a generation of columbians blame americans for what happened? its far better for them to be killed by their own countrymen rather than for us to do it. that way all the anger and outrage is directed towards the guilty party rather than us.

i dont want another middle east situation where antiamerican sentiment is caused by our massive intervention there.

I have done the fair bit of reading and I've yet to see an account that throws a positive light on the other three main groups in the country- the innefectual, corruption-ridden government owned entirely or partially by various third parties, the paramilitary groups who bear the bunt of responsibility for the highest political murder rate in the world (and consequently drive all activists into the arms of FARC), and the drug lords. I'm not necessarily saying the FARC are any good, but short of a credible democratic alternative whose leaders don't get shot every three months, I can't see a better solution for the fate of the country.
