Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Servers usually just use 800x600x16 on an 15" monitor. However you can always stick in your own graphics card.

no idea...I don't work in business sales. My old roommate does, and he is the one who gave me the heads up. Memory is generally cheaper to add yourself, and yes it can be used as a personal computer, Xeon processors use hyper threading too it looks like there is an integrated 8MB graphics card, and no agp slot, so you would have to disable it and use a PCI graphics card.

however, the MB will support up to 1.752 terrabytes of SCSI drives, and 4 GB of DDR SDRAM

oh, one other interesting note...the motherboard is a dual processor MB, so when you get ready, you can just pop in another Xeon for full specs, click: http://www.dell.com/us/en/bsd/produ...edge_1600sc.htm

bad link

I was seriously considering this (spend an 2 hours last night thinking about it)

decided that I didn't need the computational power right now, and that I would better weight until next fall (when stuff would be cheaper and better)l even though I wouldn't get as good a deal

I have a athlon 1Gz, 768 MB Ram, 40 GB (100) harddrive, 80 GB 8MB cache (100) harddrive, Radeon 9000 Pro

so I am not hurting for a computer

and the best graphics card (PCI) I could see is a Radeon 7000, which is pretty weak

the extra processor and the like would just be covering for the graphics card with many new games, and as I said, I don't need the computational power right now (I would like it though)

--"and the best graphics card (PCI) I could see is a Radeon 7000, which is pretty weak"

Well, the box does include a PCI-X slot as well. Not sure what kind of cards are available for it, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a workstation graphics card with PCI-X support.

In any case, looks interesting. Bit power hungry, of course, but all the Xeons are. Wouldn't mind the drives, but honestly, I don't really have a use for it at the moment. I'd rather not pay the power bills... if I need storage I'll put together a nice box with SATA and a low-power processor as a file server.
