Songs that sound the same Suffering from ads?

It's simple, post songs that sound really similar in places:

The Offspring - Why Don't You Get a Job?
and
The Beatles - Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da

Interpol - Obstacle 1
and
Red Hot Chili Peppers - By the Way

Every Everclear song

You get the idea.

Does blatant plagiarism count?

Like Vanilla Ice stealing that damn riff? Or the MC Hammer theft of the melody for "You Can't Touch This?"

Why don't you get a job is a direct rip though. It's not like it's some coincidence.

Exactly. There's a difference between intentional "homage," (such as the main theme from Brahms' 1st symphony, last movement being similar to the tune of Beethoven's Ode to Joy, or a Techno remix of Beethoven's 5th, etc.), and blatant theft (like, pretty much every song Andrew Lloyd Webber ever wrote).

Yes, and I believe one of the songs that was mentioned was one that ALW lifted from a Mendelssohn tune. What a *****.

"He's So Fine and My Sweet Lord."
That is so fitting!!!
No Doubt's "tragic kindom" definitely sounds like some of the beatle's strawberry fields-type songs, with thier crazy use of organs... Definitely an homage though - not a direct rip-off.

Let's face it, the Finns have never been noted for their music now Ramo? Would you take the advice of a Finnish music critic seriously? What has Finland produced? Bomfunk MCs?

And Stew, yeah, I noticed those two songs (Smashing Pumpkins and King Adora) sound so similar too

The most annoying thing is when you've got two songs that sound similar and yet know that there's absolutely no way one could have nicked the bit from the other. Like on the new White Stripes album, on "Little Acorns" there's a riff that sounds exactly like one used by swedish band Broder Daniel in 1996. But there's absolutely no way the two could actually be related. Aargh!
