I'll put my voice out there as willing to help with such a site- if people are willing to submit things- but I'd rather not run it myself (space considertaions and all)

I do a lot of HTML design however and could create a pretty nice-looking site

All that I can do from my side is providing web space, I have some 50 MB free of web space if they are needed.

But it is an Italian server, so all things are written in Italian (but it is very intuitive so there should not be any problem)

But that's pretty much all what I can do.

I'd be willing to get back in the RPG stuff if something like this was gonna happen. Just as long as you don't expect me to say too much.

I'm not able to do a lot of web designing and whatnot, but I could try and do maps (such as I can) and also creative writing.

Okay- here's a template.

The Vital Statistics page could resemble the CIA world factbook entry pages... as for the sidebar- some quick facts about the nation would be appropriate

That sounds really good! We'll have to work out some way to exchange files so that we don't have to upload them to our servers directly- since mine is about full

What we are going to need for the site are:
-An introduction Page talking about the region
-A history page about the region, its reps and its ideals
-The military stats page (I'll take care of this)
-Maps of every nation
-Flags of every nation (easy to get)
-Everyone to create vital statistics for their nation
-Everyone to create a sidebar statistics for their nation.

as it is; most nations should follow a basic template of the information so that it looks more professional

and if Mr. President wants he can write some tales of the nations

So... that's all that I can think that we need so far- how does the site look so far?

If we want to do that, we should first finish with our regional map. Theirs isn't bad, but looks bland. No variations, all countries are more or less the same size and shape. Nothing like Ethernal Ice or anything

I can provide a dedicated server and IP address for the site, along with as much disk space as necessary (We don't use all our 20GB). We'd just need to keep bandwidth to a reasonable level. I've only got 300GB/month to work with there.

maybe we could add some "best achievements" of our nations from UN's World Report.
for example something like: "Dominion Of Sirian Knights was listed top 1% of the world in UN's lowest crime rate
report 3 weeks ago."

re: Cartography attempts
I do like the Heartlands' map, but I agree with the earlier comment about countries looking quite the same. Perhaps we should design a rather standard map along the same lines, allocating areas for nations, then allow each nation to choose which area they think is best- and then allowing each nation to customise their coastline and interior features to a certain degree.

frankly, I think if we just shrink ours; the basic shape might be good; for example; cut out one of eternal cold's continents and do some other small modifications- and it should be good!

and we definently need a logo, something like the heartland region has.
any ideas for what to but in that logo to represent apo? kittens and bananas? or something about Civ?
