	MoO3 Editable Data Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Replied to a post on the IG forums after somebody asked, not sure if this was a big secret or if i'm just not up to date on things, but anyway.

The editable data is contained in your GameDataSets directories in the MoO3 folder. The files are .mobs and seems like they're probably zip format, I opened it them with WinRAR fine. Just glanced around at some of the files, not sure what everything does but there seems to be lots of comments, maybe we'll get some guides from the devs about it? In any case i'm sure Apolytoners will figure something out.

Yep, they are .zip files (you can use winzip to open them as well).

I have tried editing some race data in the spreadsheets and .mob racedata to no effect. Seems some wise guy at Quicksilver thought of this and hardcoded the race points and traits. Quick - get a rope

Well someone over at igmoo found out what variable to change to give his evon 1000 pick points!

Alright, if you're going to edit anything be sure to just put the edited file in the folder of the same name. Say you edit spreadsheets.mob, the edited file woud need to be placed in the ****\GameDataSets\Classic_01\GameData\Common directory in a new folder called spreadsheets. The game looks to files in the folders before looking to the game.

OK, set me straight. I thought the game had the ability for me to customize graphics, race, music, flag, color, everything. No?

Go to the infogrames moo3 forum under i got 10 mil AU and this should answer some questions. The game right now for me is getting very tedious and I am about ready to park until there are significant changes in future patches as with regards to the interface and menus. Oh well, I hope Galciv would be a better waste of my $54.00!

Anyone have this info, the search function at official forums keeps giving me Page cannot be displayed errors.

edit: whoops nevermind found the data after looking around with that moo3 editor.

WTF? I tried several times to modify the "sweet spot" numbers (I want to change the Ichthytosians so their ideal planet has less air pressure, the default is 96, I think, and I want it 70). and when I start the game after I modified the numbers the game crashes when I click on New Game ("directX unavailable").
