	Apolyton.net chat issues using mIRC Get a bigger avatar today!

OK, after having got through the annoyances of registering my nick for the Apolyton chatroom using mIRC months ago, I return to find that I cannot reconnect, using the same computer and settings as I always had.

My nick should be MrWhereItsAt, and the alternate is MrWIA. If I change this to MrWIA and MWIA is the alternate I get the same results.


Now when I connect, mIRC tells me

-apolyton.net- *** Found your hostname, cached
-
-apolyton.net- *** Checking Ident
-
* Identd request from 64.246.32.51
* Identd replied: 2705, 6667 : USERID : UNIX : MrWhereIts

-apolyton.net- *** Got Ident response
-
Closing Link: 0.0.0.0 (Invalid username [MrWhereIts])
-
* Disconnected


And then it just tries to reconnect until...

-apolyton.net- You have been throttled for 2 minutes for too many connections in a short period of time. Further connections in this period will reset your throttle and you will have to wait longer.


ARGH! Can someone help me here?

All I can say is that you have to log-on at least once a month or you will loose your nick.

You will have to go through the proces again I'm afraid...

For pure investigative procedures I used your nick and it isn't the problem.

Could be IP (Xtra is crap) or something else.

Thanks alva, I'll now have to dig up the thread from 5+ months ago that I had to start to find out how to register my nick....

Hmm... So does anyone have a clue whatI CAN do ti fix this? And BTW Frozzy, isn't it about time to change avatars? Maybe a Black Caps one would be of a less hopeless cause.

As for a black caps avatar... I'll hold until Super Sixes begin. This preliminary (sp?) round has been a farce of match fixing. I mean, the Windies made a meal out of the Canada game... or at least a messy snack.

After the CWC is over, I'll return to my gingerbread man.

I can join via mirc, but no-one ever seems to be talking, and my nick doesn't show up on the list of people in the chatroom.

Still doesn't work. alva - I got your PM, but I can't even get to that stage, as soon as I try and connect to the server it tells me "MrWhereIts" is an invalid username. ARGH!!! again. Can anyone tell me step by step EXACTLY what I am doing wrong, and what to do? I haven't changed my settings in three months, Poly must have changed. Therefore there should have been problems like this before. So they must have been dealt with.

Can someone tell me what to dOOOOOO!!!!!!!?!!??!

Yeap, you simply had a false Identd setting as we just noticed, so it's working now for you.
