	PTW 1.21 Patch Remove this text

Crousto has started a thread at 1BC regarding converting the current game to the patch. I haven't down-loaded it or reviewed it yet. Any thoughts?

I accidently ran across the army bug in an SP game. It really screwed things up including crashing the game a few times. It took a while for me to get it straightened out so I could continue the game.

I don't know about the others but they look like important fixes.

Considering that the patch appears to fix possible cheat exploits. I think Switching is seriously to be considering. But everyone has to be on US version though....

yes but does it affect games already started with the old version?

We could ask one of our Consuls to ask Soren if the fixes for PBEM games will apply to games already in progress.

If not, then we would have serious reasons to request a re-start (same map) or a whole new map.

Just pushing this up the forum again.

This sounds to me to be an absolutely crucial decision - do we stick to what little has happened and rely on the pledges for preventing exploits such as have been fixed in v1.21 or do we formally request the other groups to consider restarting with the new patch? Of course remember that this is ONLY available for the US version of the game ATM, and who knows how long it will be before any Euro version shows itself. I believe the US version patch is applicable to the Oz/NZ versions, although I have not tried this yet. My evidence for this is from other games released here where the US patches work for sure.

Keep in mind there may well be other problems that arise during the course of the game from using the earlier version.

My only regret is that if we DID change versions, I see no logical reason to reelect Consuls etc. Dammit - a week or two later start and I'd have been the 5th Consul!!!!

My beef is at 10 MB it will take a l-o-o-o-ng time for me to download I wish people would have patches in modules that you could download them in bits and pieces. Not everyone has DSL or cable modems, etc.

There are plenty of free download programs out there that you can use as Download managers. YOu enter the URL of the file you want to download, then whenever you are online it will download. Assuming the site supports restarts, these programs like Go!zilla and GetRight mean you can download large files piecewise, over many online sessions. Try one out - that's how I got the patch on my dialup.

the best would be if the gaming world leaves place for the patch on the disk , so that the people can burn the patch on it , .....

, maybe you could ask someone to send it as attach , .....
