(Just a suggestion at formatting; don't have much time to think about it, so it might not be the best way of doing things.)
REPORTED RON BUG: #1
Type: Scripting
Version: Shipping (I'll look up the full number tomorrow)
Description: In the most advanced tutorial, it seems that the diplomatic situation is locked, so it's impossible to declare war on Germany when the tutorial tells you to.
VARIFICATION: VERIFIED BY ACEFLINT

I can verify locked Diplomacy bug on "Battle of Britain" tutorial mission. Attempted mission in all manners, still repeatable bug.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Tutorial Bug 2 : Crash to desktop upon completion of missions, including "Quick Learn." Repeatable. No exceptions.
Tutorial Bug 3: Voice-over during load/description screen for tutorial missions plays when it damn feels like it.
Repeatable but with exceptions.
General Bug 1: When a building is selected and a unit/upgrade is being completed, if the descrition of the unit/upgrade is long, ie. "researching heavy knight", the description will wrap in the text box forcing the status bar to slide under the icons of anything in the queue. Repeatable. No exceptions.
I have found, so far, four pages worth of bugs/glitches, ALL VERY MINOR(except for the crash to desktop after tutorials).
Does anyone have contact info for this info, posting all of them on the boards doesn't seem the most efficient way, but I'll play along either way.
This game freakin' ROCKS!

Okay, here is most of what I have so far. Its funny, my notes made perfect sense to me at 2AM.
System Specs:
Windows XP Home
-- Version 5.1.2600 SP 1 Build 2600
AMD 1102 Mhz Processor
768 MB SDRAM
40 GB Western Digital HD
nVidia GeForce4 Ti 4200 64 MB
-- Driver 4.1.0.9 * this series driver not digitally signed
DirectX 9.0
Creative SoundBlaster Live!
-- Driver 5.12.01.3041
----------------------------------------------------------------
General:
1) At main menu screen, Background screen has a psuedo battle scene, resolution is so poor it looks like gigantic pixel soldiers. Also frequently the background goes totally black.
2) Crash to Desktop after sucessfully completing any tutorial mission, or Quick Learn Battle. Skirmishes and CTW resolve themselves fine so far.
3) Whenever my main screen is panned close to water, the music takes on this horrid digital distortion. If I move away from the water its gone. Occurs everytime in skirmish or CTW.
4) During scenarios, if I set any group(so far have not created any more than four simultaneus groups) and then select an individual unit, in a control group or not, I see "F46"
displayed just below the unit. Sometimes I will also get a "2" or a "1" beneath units that I never grouped. I know they were not grouped because most of them had just been created.
5) From the Industrial Age on, when I click on a caravan or supply wagon, which are now seen as trucks, I still get the original horse/wagon sound effects.
6) Exiting and restarting game resets "Auto Citizen Delay"
Great feature by the way! The slider not the reset
7) Mouse wheel zoom appears to change the center or view as you zoom in and out.
8) Music occasionally stops abruptly. It will restart if select a unit/building.
9) Occasionally my entire screen will flash, just for a frame or two. At first it appeared to only happen when I layed waypoints for a unit, but I haven't been able to verify that.
10) When playing "Learn to Play" if I use the mid game menu box or end game menu box to switch to "Quick Battle" my screen goes black. I keep the cursor and control of the mouse but that's it. I Task Manager out and end RON. Incidentally, when this happens the task manager shows cpu usage at or close to 100%.
11) Rollover/mouseover boxes allow the names of buildings to bleed through. City names do not come through the boxes, and neither do the borders of the building names.
12) In the right hand side of the UI, where info/progress is displayed of the selected object, there areseveral text problems. Basically anytime text is already present(ie. description of units strengths/weaknesses) and the unit is active, the status of the units activity(ie. "Moving") bleeds into the rest of the text. Queue will also overlap progress bar. Tips in left hand side of UI are beneath icons for units, specifically RE 'Market".
13) I have noticed some very odd pathfinding when I order foot units into unexplored territory. If the location I send them to is unpassable(I know this cause I used reveal to try and fiqure tis out) or is blocked, the unit will either pace back and forth over a large area or --I'm not making this up-- walk off somewhere and stand there looking as if it is either urinating or sulking in some "Time-out", for being bad
14) Also units set to aggressive stance will sometimes follow your orders for about 2 seconds if there is an enemy/target nearby. So far I have only seen this with ranged units. I had one slinger with a sliver of health left who felt it was far more appropriate to attack that keep than run away like I ordered. The valiant fool of course died.
15) Two nit picky things RE: Tutorial "Battle of Britain". The voiceover says declare war on Germany. There are two Germanys in that scenario. The mission objective display on the left hand side the screen says, "Declare war on Adolf." Also the voiceover says "click the stance icon...", however on the Diplo screen it is refered to as "Status".
16) At the Diplo screen, when you rollover/mouseover chat status, the chat status icons used in the help box overwrite parts of the text.
17) I often loose the sounds of firearm foot units during a battle, especially with Arqebusiers(sp?).
18) Launched a Nuclear missile, the animation played (very cool!) and then Armeggedon popup, and then FREEZE up. After about two minutes I got to Task Manager. Cpu usage at 100%. Resolution had dropped to 640*480 with 4 bit color. System rebooted just fine though.
19) Whale animation appears to bleed through fishing vessel.
20) With a Fire Ship, bombard specific location is an option, but when selected nothing happens.
21)At Options screen/Game tab, the rollover help for "Auto All-Clear" says, "text needed for optionswin/checkbox/Auto_AllClear in help.xml!".
22)Inside border of menu boxes in Options screen have very thin gaps in them allowing you to see through to the screen underneath. The areas look like graphic trash at first, but upon further investigation you can see that its just a gap in the black background.
23) Japanese barrack units do 5% LESS damage vs, buildings? That is what the rollover for their tribe in the "Quick Battle Setup Screen".
24) Twice after leaving the game paused for more than five minutes, without manipulating the game in any way, it froze and I had to kill the power to get control back. Power saver/screen saver settings are set at very long intervals so I don't think they affected the situation. I can not get this to consistently repeat.
25) When using Decoy units, if I send them into unexplored territory, they reveal little squares of terrain, looks very strange.
26) Textures on hilly terrain at the edge of the fog of war, don't blend well. I'll get black polgons in the low areas adjacent to cliffs/hills/mountains.
27) Mines placed on cliff tops can sometimes trap workers, and/or change the terrain enough to prevent any workers from being able to "check-in" at the mine.
28) The load screen for a skirmish will at first state the wrong map type under the game description, but eventually will change to the correct map type. Stupid and nit picky, I know.
Loaded Game Issues:
1) When the load screen is displayed for a previously saved game, the tribes unique units are not displayed.
2) Mines that were placed on cliffs before the save are inoperable. Their building faces won't display, and when the mine is selected nothing will display. All the workers at the mine are turned idle and their rock piles are gone. If I select a worker to work the mine I get the feedback that the mine is full. I also can no longer place mines on cliffs, the screen says, "Mines must be placed next to mountains". Mines at mountains function normally.
3) If a restored save game had farm plots in it with animals, the animals appear one farm plot below their original location. The farm appears to still function normally. If their is a building directly below the animal farm, then the animals can't be seen, otherwise they appear. The animals appear to be stuck in some kind of very short animation loop, making them apppear as if they are shivering, or dancing really fast
CTW:
1) At Strategic level screen: the Events Dialog box, Rules box, and World Status box all have thin lines of their black backgrounds missing allowing you to see the screen beneath, see General #22.
2) At CTW Rules screen: Bottom of list description says," overrun of territory.," then repeats the previous bullet, " An army can attack or support..."
3) The tabs on the Achievments screen have gone crazy! They appear either too high or too low, and neither set is touching the other.
Misc. Maps:
1) Bodacein Map, Tutorial #1 Top left edge of map shows a sliver of water where uneven terrain meets the beige map border.
2) Quick Learn map in the lower right corner there is some water, but the waves are crashing in the wrong direction. They are moving out to sea.
Whew! As anyone can tell the vast majority of these are not "bugs" but rather small glitches. Also very few of these have affected my game play. Hell I've payed $50 for several games that weren't even close to as finished as this BETA is!
Anyway, if anyone can help with these or can verify these on their systems please say something. I know several of these have been mentioned once or twice somewhere else, but I tried to be as complete as I could be so far. Right now Generals, Moo3,and WC3 are all just hanging out because this non-retail version of RON is just too much freakin' fun

Random crashes to desktop
CustodianV131,
I've been experiencing those too, once or twice (not every time by far). It's very annoying, especially considering that it only tends to happen towards the end of a long game (at least for me). I think it's happened two or three times, and it's possible that all of these were in CTW, though that might be just what I've been playing more recently. I'll post full system specs later, but I'm running Windows XP Pro, DirectX 9 (I persume, since it was installed with the game), and a P3-1 GHz. Our specs are very different with the exception of the fact that I also have XP and a 80 gb harddrive, so if we're experiencing the same bug, we can probably say that it's either an XP problem, a RoN problem, or (unlikely but possible) an big-hard drive problem.
One question -- what video mode are you running RoN in? I'm running it in the middle level (can't remember the number) since it was going rather slow on my boarderline system. One thing I noticed is that instead of resizing the monitor, RoN became windowed when it was in a lower resolution than my Desktop -- perhaps that has something to do with the problem?

Finally got my beta, and I'm not satisfied with it at all. It's not the gameplay or the appearance or anything like that. I've yet to even experience those.
And that leads me to my issue. When I double-click on the icon, I get the expected "Loading" screen for a few seconds, which then disappears. The screen goes blank for a fraction of a second and then goes back to the desktop. When I run the Task Manager, it says that RoN isn't responding for half a second after the desktop reappears. After that, the RoN listing goes away. The Event Viewer has no idea what kind of error (four new error entries every time I try to run RoN) occurred and doesn't even put it in a category.
I'm running WinXP on a 750 MHz AMD Athlon in an ASUS A7V motherboard with more than enough RAM for the game. My video card is an ATI RAGE 128 GL AGP and my sound card is a Creative AudioPCI. Aside from that, there shouldn't be anything that can possibly cause a problem.
There was only ever one conflict and that was fixed with a driver for my video card. After that, there were no warnings at all.
So... Anyone got any ideas? I wanna play my beta!

Well, I finally got the game to work on the other computer (900MHz, different video card).
I've edited out my complaints about the supply wagons and barracks. I was right about not fully understanding the mechanics of the game. But the other problem is still there, that problem being the following:
I don't hear any music at all, except for in that neato-cool introductory sequence when the program loads up. As for sound effects, I only heard one ever, and that was a cannon being destroyed in the 100 Years War tutorial. That is definitely reproducible as it's happened in every game I played. The first time I played, in fact, a mysterious buzzing noise was heard and it didn't stop until the end of the tutorial. That has not happened since.

As far as I can tell, I'm not able to open previously saved solo games. I would try to open a save, and I'd see a screen similar to the one you see when a new game is being set up. At one point, I see the green bar at the bottom about 33% full with the text "Terrain Restore" superimposed on it, staying the same for roughly thirty seconds. Finally, for a fraction of a second, the green bar goes all the way to 100% with the text "World Restore", and then the screen disappears and I return to the desktop.
This has happened consistently, every time I did it, with exactly the same result. Could others try to open up a saved game and see if the problem is reproduced on your machines?

Yeah, I have the exact same problem whether loading a CTW saved game or just a quick battle.
