Just wanted to let you guys know i won the Greek contest here at Apolyton.
I took part because i enjoyed answering the questions. Never expected to win, i never do with contests like this. But for one reason or another lady luck was smiling at me!
Now to put some of you at ease a bit, if you feel something like: "AAARCH an outsider is taking my copy!" Then know that i'm a big fan of Apolyton since my Civ2 days. (During my civ1 addiction i didn't check the net for civ sites... but it was all still a gray mess back then.. so i don't think i missed much ) Of course I fully understand you rather had won yourself
I've not been actively taking part in the community here, because I’ve always played the the Civ range of games against the AI and i had to keep up with quite a few other communities already. Now with RON this may all change. (5000 hours of history in 1 hour.. mind boggling)
I'm following the exploits of BHG since the days they left Firaxis. I had my doubts about RON at first.. but when more and more came known about the game i realized: "this could be my dream coming true" A civ where i can actually fight the battles.
I think its gonna be spectacular! A thinking mans RTS. a bit of this feeling while playing KOHAN, but it was to limited and a total fantasy to have any ties with Civ.
What RON does is mix two of my favorite games series The Civ games and the Age games. If they play their cards right, it can hardly become anything else then a BLAST!
Well ok... babbling enough already!
Hope we can try a few Polyfan-games online some time. Still i'm on ISDN and its seems broadband is needed for the beta. Any experiences of smallband users with multiplayer?
Cheers,
Custo
