16X CD Specification Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Will there be a way to get around this? As I only have 8X, shall I be able to copy the music files to the drive? Or will the game still work, but just not optimally?

Get a new Cd rom they are CHEAP. a 56X is like 50 bucks...u can get a new 16x now if they still around in junk bins probably for less then 20 bucks

although the cd speed probably wouldnt make any difference in playing the game. since i dont think you need to read the cd after u install it, apart from the opening cinematics or to get through the cd protection. the speed will only make the installation process slower, or the cd protection check slower but that doesnt really matter. Only the opening cinematics maybe affected possibly, but i suspect your computer cpu or graphics hard will have more affect. 8x cd is fast enough to play movies anyways.

i think he has an 8x DVD (unless his drive is that old)
an 8x DVD will run CDs as if it was at 40 something speeds

yeah DVD at 8x is totally capaple of reading CD at over 16x
