So, where do you stand? (Time out:0 days after 02-03-2003, 14:52)
I am not a US citizen, I do not support the war without UNSC approval.
I am not a US citizen, I support the war regardless whether the UNSC approves it or not.
I am a US citizen, yet I don't think we should go it alone.
I am a US citizen, screw UN if it stands in the way.

Roll call: Gulf War II stance Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

It seems like most posters on 'Poly have chosen their position wrt to Gulf War II, any further debate is merely academic. So let me ask you this, will you support the US/UK invasion without a UN Security Council blessing?

I am not interested in your opinions wrt the *cough* credibility *cough* of the UN in this thread, so please leave those at the door, thank you.

So you think you should go if and only if at least 1 other country in the world is with you?

I find that to be a very odd stance.

I am a US citizen, and I think it should be a UN thing.
But I also realize the UN thing will never happen.

And I think Saddam needs to go.

So I'm still undecided.

Blair seems to become GWB's lapdog so there's no problem with UK support. Also, Howard want to have a bit of fun, so toss some Aussies in there too. As far as I can tell, that's all the support there will be without an UNSC resolution.

Canada would be better

I would rather have them than the UK

I am concerned with just the UK (well acutally I am concerned with any number), but probably won't protest it unless we are actually alone

the lowest my concern would go is if Canada, UK, australia and Mexico sided with our stance

I don't care about the UN

I am not a US citizen and remain undecided on the war. I do not agree with the latest US position that disarmament is not enough and a regime change is also necessary to avoid war. While I would be happy to seem him gone, I do not know what authority allows one nation to dictate the form of government of another.

So far, this whole thing has been pretty predictable . . . Saddam "complies" a bit with weapons inspectors, delays and confuses things while the UN twiddles its thumbs

Not a US citizen, but I would support any action which removes Saddam, regardless of UNSC support, simlpy because I (personal opinion) feel that the other members are just playing politcal games, while the Iraqi people suffer.

Wish the same resolve was shown against N-Korea .. before they do what Saddam can only dream of doing.

This is a funny question. Don't think the UN matters to most Americans. Support from the UN swings the question something like 9 percentage points. The "friends like the UK, Australia, etc." swings it much more--about 20 percentage points.

I only support war if there is convincing evidence that Iraq's regime is planning terrorist attacks against european targets or if they support international islamic terrorists. And if they do, UNSC approval is irrevelant imo.
