Detailed Description: The United States of Igloria is a enormous, devout nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 357 million are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.
There is no government in the normal sense the word; however, a small group of community-minded individuals juggles the competing demands of Defence, Religion & Spirituality, and Social Welfare. Income tax is unheard of. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising fourteen-year-old boys selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.
It is a crime to offend someone's religious beliefs, tourists from around the world come to visit the country's famous rainforests, corporations donate huge sums of money to favored politicians, and all tarrifs have been abolished. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Igloria's national animal is the swan, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Sir De La Gardie.
