What type of Net Connection do you have? Get a bigger avatar today!

The question has come up once so far here, and it might be instructive to know how much of the team has fast Net access, for the purposes of tailoring thread reports to best fit our speeds, or simply for the sake of it.

So please, go ahead and select the speed that is closest to yours...

I chose 56k or higher; though considering that 56k is merely an ideal in the first place, and I'm going through a shared gateway, under 56k is more accurate some of the time...

What's 'k' ? kilobit or kilobyte? (kb or kB). Makes quite a difference! (factor 8)

Kilobit/second. That makes 7 Kbytes/second. But the connection is just theoretically 56k. It is more like between 50k and 52k practically (at least for me). Which means a speed of ~ 6Kbytes.

Edit: This is why it is kbps and not kBps.

I'm not sure which side of the 256k line the Libary I'm currently using while between contracts uses. (I just got a call on my cell while at the libary from my consulting company saying an interview is being set up with a company.)

It's not my fault that my connection is asynchronous!
Nonetheless, I run P2P programs even when I'm not downloading something and I don't limit uploads. I try to give back whatever my crummy upstream connection can.
