	File Sharing software...or spyware Got spare money?

As we all know file sharing software are found anywhere on the net, may it be Imesh, Kazaa or Xdcc downloads with Mirc. But what comes to my mind is which is the best for your comp.

Imesh is probably the fastest one outthere to download files (get 250kps often) but doesn`t have half as much file choice as kazaa has. Plus Imesh installs GAIN on your comp which gives you pop-up after pop-up which pop-up killer cant block.
Kazaa (exept for Kazaa lite) has its own share of pop-up generators and is considerably slow when downloading files (never saw more than 90kps) and I've heard that it installs some spywares for marketing purposes.
Mirc is the fastest way to download files (got 450 kps) but man is it long to find what your looking for and when you find it you'll probably be queued for 2-3 hours.
Limewire, Bearshare and all those other suck so much ass it's not even worth taking them into consideration.

In conclusion I pick kazaa lite. Almost unlimited file choice, slow but fast to start downloads and NO ADDWARE!!!! maybe I have a spyware on my comp by kazaa that I didn`t find but who cares! Atleast I dont get the freakin PC anywhere add every 5 mins.

Emule (no spyware at all) for divx and iso's
DietKazaa for mp3's/videoclips and small games

WinMX is the most serious P2P software I've ever seen. Much choice, tolerable speed, and above all no cons : no spyware, no adware, no automatic-launching-at-startup-without-you-knowing, none of this.
Just a simple, straight to the point client. It uses decentralized servers, so the company developing the software isn't desperate for money, and doesn't use this kind of crap.

The most serious P2P software I've ever seen would be the eDonkey/Overnet network.

There's two good clients for it right now: eMule is great, but it's only for the eDonkey 2000 network.
eDonkey2000 is pretty good, but it simultaneously covers Overnet and eDonkey networks.

All of the other companies should take a page from eDonkey's book: Force people to upload segments of files they're downloading, use hash values to keep track of files incase of people renaming them, allow links to be taken from websites that automatically add files to your download queue by hash value...

watch out for those virus' in that porn though. My friend got one just the other day.

I got hit from a porn virus late last years from kazaa (I think)

Been very very busy with my new job! Well not so new now. And I got bored with Civ3. Glad to see that PTW is out and I'm enjoying it much more than I enjoyed Civ3.
